My Dad used to pile my two friends and me in the back window “doggy seat”…..allowing the four seater Bug to carry seven…..I suppose it would be looked upon as child abuse today…..but at the time, we thought it was great…..
I had a ’68 AUTOMATIC STICK SHIFT it was my first car & it was great.
That was then this is now.
Nostalgia blows.
Cars suck.
Old cars are both cars & nostalgia.
Here’s the story behind that particular car: http://www.punchbuggy4sickkids.com/index.php
I built model Bugs as a teen, and owned a couple in my early 20’s. I too would kill for this one 🙂
I had a few old Bugs back in the sixties. 36HP, no heater or defrost to speak of, not even a gas gauge on two of them.
Don’t miss them a bit. 🙂

Nothing compares to you:

My Dad’s comment was “Well, I hope they fixed the heater!”
We had one when I was a kid. Black as I remember. My brother use to sleep in the pouch in the back. What is the real name for that place?

Somedays I am concerned about your taste. However, with this post you have redeamed yourself.
Photo taken while driving? I hope you waited for a stop to upload it. 🙂
