—London’s Burning, redux
Some of you didn’t get the punk rock reference in the post below. So, here’s the Clash song that I was shouting – in a Toronto-bound car, and at the top of my lungs – on the weekend, just before the riots broke out. (I should shout “I won the lottery!” too, and see if that helps.)
God, these guys truly were the only band that mattered. Look at them move.
They were indeed a great band. My personal fave was their debut album (1977’s ‘The Clash’, from which the above tracks were taken).
Don’t mean to sound preachy, but here’s a thought for readers today: Instead of fretting about the London riots and a topsy-turvy global stock market, get off your wallets and make a donation to E. African famine relief. You’ll instantly feel better.
That is all.
Good day.
That is a damn good suggestion.

Done. Very chill idea.
Seconded on the frothiness of their debut album. The next two were just amazing as well. Thank God for iTunes as the whole body of work is on there now.
Utter Chaos by the Clash.
