Bigoted, hateful pamphlet authorized by Hudaks PCs
This pamphlet is being circulated, tonight, in Brampton ridings. As you can see at the bottom, it is expressly authorized by “the C.F.O. of the Ontario P.C. Party.”
Along with being hateful, the PC ad is completely false. It is wrong. It is B.S. The true facts are found here.
For a party that started the campaign attacking “foreign” workers, and is now ending it attacking “foreign” students, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. But it’s pretty disgusting, nonetheless. And it’s yet another reason why the Hudak PCs blew a near-20-point lead, I’d say.
It has to be some American consultant in the PC campaign that ok’d this flyer that is circulating. It may help their base in, say, Leeds-Grenville, but it’s suicide in Toronto. Their numbers are going to go down further.
When we were in full battle for rights in Alberta this sort of thing started to appear. A few of us, who worked in the media, did a lot of research to find out who was funding it. Turned out that The Mormon Church out of Utah was writing the script and paying the costs. To their amazement we had the Court kick their radio, TV and newsprint ads back to Utah. Follow the money trail it always leads to the source.
I hope the gloves really come off now – This is sick base or no base.

Nothing too specific; it just says “last week”.
And it might be a foray into local “ethnic” politics. Remember for example those ads during T.O. mayoral campaign on tamil radio trashing Smitherman for being gay. This could be like that.
