Good enough that this incorrigible Liberal and liberal could vote for her, that’s how good.

The problem here may turn out to be that you’re right: she is the sort of person you’d vote for. Except you won’t because you are a Liberal. Meanwhile, is she the sort of person that a small-c conservative would vote for? I hear a lot of enthusiasm but this is a politician who has never faced a real electoral test. If she can’t convince real conservatives that she is worthy of their support over the next while, she’s history.
The Liberal vote in Alberta, even at the height of the NEP, seldom dips below 20-25 per cent. If she has that, plus what she’s got, she’ll win the biggest majority since Lougheed. Who, BTW, was the guy who lured my Dad to Alberta.
Yep
I read her resume the day she won the leadership. I was extremely impressed then, and she hasn’t disappointed me yet.
We desperately need this kind of leadership in Ottawa. And (fingers crossed) Harper’s met his match.
You write:

Are you suggesting that this time even that 20-25 percent will abandon the Liberals and vote for a conservative?
She is a Red Tory , somewhat like Joe Clark, , a progressive, not at all like Harper
ahh, those were the days…..lol
Mr K, speaking of thing Alta, have you seen this? http://drdawgsblawg.ca/
I’ll still be voting NDP in the next election, though its nice to have a Conservative Premier I actually can respect and not detest. A Premier can be conservative without going to the cynical lows of Tim Hudak or Stephen Harper. Redford actually has ideas about how to improve government that doesn’t involve the typical predictable conservative talking points.
I definitely get a sense that some of the more red meat Conservative type voters might go Wildrose, but for the most part people I talk to seem to be pleased with her.
I like the fact she immediately reached out beyond the Harper firewall. Fresh air indeed.
Gord, do you think they should shoot her before or after a trial.
