Free speechers of the world, unite

My pal Brian Lilley, who tells me he’s a free speecher, just cut my microphone off in the taping of his show.  Wow.  Like, wow.

This is one Sun News segment that may be worth watching!  Broadcast times here!

Warren, you are much better than Sun “News”. Why why why Sun “News”?

  2. Mike Mason says:

The Occupy Wall Street (ows) movement is all about free speech, in the U.S. and in Canada. Corporatism has gone global/multinational so it’s time that ordinary people did too. Not only must we maintain free speech but we must be proactive in bringing about progressive change and any progressive idea like free speech should be promoted along with a host of others. Civilization needs a Reformation not just as a reaction against what we perceive to be corruption but proactively in documenting a new vision for the world, one tiny step at a time.

  3. Warren says:

    I like a good fight.

Getting my microphone cut off…that hasn’t happened to me since little Ted White cut me off in 1996 in North Vancouver. That persuaded me to run against him.

Lilley’d better watch out! I may demand my own show, now!

  4. wannabeapiper says:

I have said this several times on your Musings, and again-Sun News is a piece of shite. I can’t believe it lasted this long and it would be bettered if you had your own show.

  5. MCBelllecourt says:

Krista Erickson = Foghorn Leghorn in drag.

Brian Lilley = Yosemite Sam the morning after the night before

Ezra Levant = the illegitimate offspring of The Tazmanian Devil and Wile E. Coyote.

    • Windsurfer says:

If nothing else, in this dreary, dismal political scene, it’s good to see people like you with not only a ‘witty’ sense of irony but also a well-turned and eloquent sense of the grotesquely absurd.

This post of yours qualifies for “Post Of The Year” on the Kinsella blog.

I await your next Sun-drenched posting.

  6. JH says:

Shouldn’t have happened WK for sure. Still I wouldn’t take much comfort in those rushing to your defence.
Knuckle draggers right or left are still knuckle draggers.

  7. Igor says:

I`m a conservative, but I think it`s absolutely wonderful you work for Sun News. It`s good to have dissenting voice to keep them honest. By the way, excellent choice for best song of 2011!

  8. Mike says:

That Lilley loves to hear his own voice. Why I ask, have expert guests on the show when he feels compelled to preach his ‘this is the way it is’? I guess that is why the only time I watch SunTV is when W. Kinsella is on. Loved the mic cut though.

    • Ken says:

You ever watched clueless Evan Solomon? I’m a CBC fan, but he’s like the reverse WK. Makes me turn CBC -off-.

      • Ted B says:

I don’t seem to remember him ever cutting anyone’s mic off before, but maybe I missed it.

I also seem to recall that the whole structure of his show involves commentary/pundiits from all over the spectrum.

Nor do I recall any segment of his show where he tells us “this is the way it is” and editorializes/pontificates, as opposed to merely asking questions of and responding to comments by his guests.

But other than that, they are pretty much the exact same, as are oranges and apples.

        False equivalency much?

      • Paul says:

Evan Solomon is actually a pretty good and impartial interviewer who has impressed me on numerous occasions with guests of many political stripes. You know how politicians always weasel their way out of giving a straight answer, even to a simple yes or no question? I watch P&P every night and from what I’ve seen Evan is better than most about keeping on their asses to get them to address the actual questions he asks rather than twist it around into a campaign speech..

  9. Justin says:

The slogan for SUN news should be ‘you are free to do as we tell you’

  10. Peterpatch says:

Holy fuck! You win hands down Warren!

  11. Patrick Deberg says:

Missed this can you post alink?

  12. Jon Powers says:

I’m undecided on who’s hair looked better in this clip – yours or Lilley’s. Tough call.

  13. Barb R. says:

For heaven’s sake Warren, you wouldn’t shut up! You just kept saying the same thing, only louder and louder and LOUDER.

As for your claim that parents will indeed be notified when their children are to be taught how to correctly perform oral and anal sex, you kept saying that the curriculum very clearly states that parents will be notified at the beginning of the semester. Is that true? The beginning of the semester? So if parents do not wish their children to attend that particular class, they have to pull their kids out at the beginning of the semester – for the whole semester?

    That can’t be right.

  14. Rob says:

Warren, I like reading your site. I enjoy reading news from both sides, as somewhere in the middle is the reality.

You stated that this is curriculum from 1998. The stop corrupting Children site has the 2009 and the new curriculum available on their main page. So if they have access to it, isn’t it safe to assume that Lilly does, and it was the current curriculum used for the Abacus poll?
