—The University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine’s Wall of Honour
They had the unveiling ceremony on Wednesday. I couldn’t be there, and neither could be my Mom, but my great friend Bob Haslam was, and he took this picture for us.
I miss him.
He would be so proud of you. He is so proud of you.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand…..
I can relate to you in some ways. I lost my father at a very young age. I was in Canada studying while he was assissinated in my former country. I got his news through CNN just before I was about to write my math Exam. Because of the time difference in Canada and Pakistan, by the time I saw the news, he was already gone. My friends came to stay with me as they were instructed to do by my mom. There is a not a day goes by when I dont miss him. I know Warren, our fathers are proud of us… I just know…. he is with you all the time….
I lost my Dad in 2004 and my son in 2011. I’ll stop by the U of C and say a silent prayer for all three Warren.
