Wildrose activist calls for murder of David Suzuki

…the same Wildrose delegate, Richard Evans, who mocks Holocaust victims, and promotes the neo-Nazi Stormfront web site.

Here’s an exchange between Evans and Kate MacMillan of Small Dead Animals, who you can learn more about here.

So, a new question for Danielle Smith: why do you associate with someone who openly counsels murder of political opponents?

The problem is that the PCs aren’t exactly an inspiring bunch either. You can’t suddenly start campaigning against this stuff 3 weeks before an election. Your reputation is EVERYTHING.

    See below:

“The gay-feminist project has become a social engineering project – to use the coercive power of the state to undermine the existing family.” – Ted Morton,
PC Energy Minister (Edmonton Journal, May 26, 2009)

“I would like today to present a petition on behalf of 105 Albertans … we the undersigned residents of Alberta petition the Legislative Assembly to pass legislation to deinsure abortion.” – Moe Amery, PC MLA Calgary-East (Alberta Legislature, October 26, 2009)

“Men are attracted to smiles, so smile, don’t give me that ‘treated equal’ stuff. If you want Equal, it comes in little packages at Starbucks.” – Doug Elniski,
PC MLA Edmonton-Calder (CBC News, June 22, 2009)

Why is Wild Rose pretending being over 18 and a Canadian citizen is the only criteria for determining a candidate’s fitness for political office?

Usually the Party screens out the whackjobs, bigots, assassins, and assorted nutjubs before putting them on the ballot & asking the electorate to screen further.

Is Wild Rose so desperate for bodies on the ballot that they’ll take anything ?

Fascists are working overtime to make Canadian democracy into one sick joke – the joke’s on Canadians and I for one am not laughing.

Smith also hired a campaign manager who called for the assassination of Julian Assange live on CBC!

Ah, the loveable Richard Evans. He’s attacked me, as well, and probably just about anyone else on #cdnpoli who has anything critical to say about WIldrose. Unfortunately I believe he also thrives on attention.

I want to believe the polls are wrong, and that Albertans are actually pausing to think carefully about Wildrose since the distasteful beliefs and behaviour of some of their candidates and supporters has come to light. This is Alberta, though– a province of largely good people who have been bombarded with so much fear mongering propaganda about liberals and liberalism that they will vote for the right, even if they have to hold their noses to do it (as many small “c” conservatives did when they felt they had no choice but to vote for Harper last year). Wildrose is now doing to the PCs what the PCs have always done with the Liberals, and Albertans (so it seems) are dutifully lapping it up. Different party, but otherwise: same old, same old.

So Warren, can we expect to see you denounce Mr. Murphy, aka bigcitylib, who has called for Christians to be forced to wear an identifying symbol on their clothing, a la yellow star? No, I thought not.

  6. frmr disgruntled Con now Happy Lib says:

As someone who supports the David Suzuki Foundation, I am appalled, and outraged……Dr. Suzuki is doing everything he can to help save the planet…..and these cretins mock that…..it is to weep…..
Lord save us ALL from Wildrose and their troglodyte supporters….

  7. Jon Allan says:

Now, if I’m not mistaken, the Wild Rose Party is pretty much acting like a neo-fascist party, what with the purging of opponents, extremist right-wing views, and palingenic ultranationalism… Has Alberta been overrun by fascists? It seems so.

  8. Corey says:

That’s almost a death threat against Suzuki. And this party is being considered for government? That should set off some alarm bells.

  9. Celeste says:

Wow! Some people have nothing better to do than to make empty threats on the internet. One would hope that Dr Suzuki will get the police involved to find out who’s making such threats against him.

  10. Robert says:

We see how the Reform party is attacking David Suzuki in order to open the door to more Oil and Gas development in the name of large corporations and “progress”. The low level of thinking and denial of global warming is not to be tolerated in Canada. Send a clear message to the Wild Rose party….Do not vote for them…deny them any leverage in Alberta…Do NOT vote for these yahoos and liars.

  11. Stephanie says:

Of course Tom Flanagan, Wildrose campaign manager, also publicly called for the assassination of Julien Assange, Wikileaks founder. Why would we expect any less of anyone else associated with this party. What’s really pathetic is apparently one can say these things in Canada with no consequences.

Our country has degenerated into a free-for-all, me first, who gives a shit about anyone else, and I can foment hate wherever I want. Makes me sick.

  12. Lipman says:

The Flanagan/Assange comment was made in the context of something much bigger with serious implications for the global economy and Western political world, and while it was inflammatory rhetoric- and outrageous stuff at that, it doesn’t come close to this sort of hateful open warfare that likely characterizes more than a small segment of the wacko wing of this upstart party.

My best regards to friends in Alberta, especially Edmonton, where I was born. May you persevere and turn the nasty tide of nutbars headed your way. I remember as a young man being frightened and alienated by the ‘powers that be’, so it is with a certain weariness that I now face ‘seniordom’ having to deal with their brood.

So, why haven’t the RCMP started investigating this guy? Isn’t that a public death threat?
