Does this look like a man who isn’t running for something?

Taken a few minutes ago in Toronto by a pal.

Hey…..that’s enough about the follicly challenged.

You are aware, that those of us with this condition are the victims of excess testosterone which causes one to lose one’s hair as they grow older.

      Right Warren?

Someone is a little protective of one’s self, all arms crossed. Might there be someone quite pissed in that photo, with a big pissed-off smile.

I think my blood pressure might come down a lot if it’s a three way race between LeBlanc, Kennedy and Trudeau. I have to admit I didn’t think Trudeau was ready for the job, but a university buddy did a long interview with him (http://freelunchdiaries.com/2012/01/portrait-of-the-politician-as-a-young-man/) that convinced me that he has the chops. If nothing else I think he’s got the best shot of the three at engaging the youth vote.

Warren, this post is not meant to fit in this thread on JT, but have you heard this news about our fave Robocall deflector? del Mastro is under investigation by Elections Canada. Love the irony. Is it true?? Thought you would want to know….from Twitter

Had a really nice chuckle over that one. It’s nice to see all those plump little rats turn on each other now that the heat is getting turned up.

  7. Sean says:

I just want to wear a button that says “TRUDEAU”.

  8. Rob Smith says:

JT could be a game changer, Kennedy not so much. JT does have the ability to move and excite folks, especially but not only, younger folks. He would stand out in a positive way vis a vis the other male talking head major party leaders. If not JT, you guys should try Martha.

Unrelated tidbit. Holinshed made the news twice today. They provided a smoking gun on Del Maestro: http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/Conservative+robocalls+defender+under+investigation+election+offences/6740208/story.html

And then this tidbit, looks like the Economic Action Plan provided them with funds to create a voter mapping software app, hmmm smells like a backdoor gift to the CPC.

Ooooooooh, made my day, bluegreenblogger!!! Thankee!!

Del Mastro. Three pounds of sleaze in a one-pound bag. Sure is gonna be fun watching him get his!!!

    • Philip says:

      You are the King!

I’ll look forward to the perp walk. This way Canadians can see if the Conservative Party actually walks the walk on crime. Not holding my breath, mind.

    LOOK OUT GERARD!

The Toronto area loves Trudeau. Combine that with Montreal, and that’s a solid base to launch a campaign with…

  11. JamesHalifax says:

Hehehe….I knew it was going to happen. I suspected that when the boxing match was announced.

Now Justin can say, “I wanted to spend more time with my family, but so many of my fans, ..er, friends think the Country needs me”

Can’t wait to see Bob Rae’s face.

  12. Matt says:

Probably close to a decade ago, Justin was speaking at an event sponsored by a group that I was on the executive of at the time. Afterwards, myself and the rest of the exec went out for a few beers with him. I was struck at the time by how intelligent and engaging he was. It took about five minutes to forget any kind of lineage that the guy had and it was certainly not a point that was made in any way. He was just a good guy who wanted to know what we thought (didn’t always agree) and was never condescending about his points. I’ve been fortunate (and in some cases unfortunate) to work for a few politicians along the way before getting back into reality and at that time and now, Justin stood out for me. I hope he is in. In my experience I think he posses the ability to connect on a personal level that is lacking in both other parties leadership at this time and if we learned anything from Jack… that can matter.

  13. Neil says:

My problem with Justin, and I have met him a few times and agree with much said about him, is that he will be a hugely polarizing figure. People in the west will dismiss him automatically as a light weight and a hated Trudeau. This will make it impossible for the party to build in Alberta, someplace where inroads are desperatly needed. He just carries soooooooo much baggage. I think if his last name was Jones or Thind or Wong he would be great, I think his lineage is actually a weakness for him, especially with the party. Maybe Canadians can get over who his father is but the party never will and that will kill him in the end.

    • Reality.Bites says:

Well Mulcair isn’t exactly making friends in Alberta either, but to be honest, I don’t see either non-Conservative party making any inroads there in the next election or the one after that, regardless of who leads or doesn’t. And we’re now in the position where if the Liberal Party had swept Alberta in the last election it still wouldn’t have even made it to Official Opposition. There’s much more work to be done in more fertile areas right now.

    • Dennis Hollingsworth says:

NEIL … respectfully what I hear you saying are historical old wives tales that are becoming less & less relevent by the Hour. WESTERNERS are Just As Hungry As We Are For NEW REALITIES … NEW REALITIES That Exclude The Tired, Boring & Dull STEVE HARPER STUPIDITY and TOTAL BULLSHIT.

STEPHEN Judas Joseph Joke HARPER has pretty much worn out his Welcome, on a permanent basis with WESTERNERS … There Is a Lag Being Worked Through Their Collective Psyche … They Are Seeing The Same Nonsense As We Here In The East … ALMOST EVERYTHING HARPER TOUCHES … HE FUCKS-UP.

What Can Any Intelligent, Informed, Caring Concerned Canadian REALLY THINK OF P.M. HARPER-CON STEVE, WHO HAS SO LITTLE GENUINE CONFIDENCE IN HIS POLICIES, PEOPLE AND PROGRAMS TO WIN AN ELECTION, FAIR & SQUARE BASED ON PURE MERIT; THAT HE ENGAGES AND IS COMPLICIT IN A PURELY STUPID GRANDIOSE SCHEME TO STEAL AN ELECTION, IN AN OTHERWISE MODERN, CIVILIZED FIRST WORLD COUNTRY.

THE REFORMA-CON,HARPER-CON, ROBO-CON STORY CAN NOT & WILL NOT GO AWAY … HARPER HAS FAILED TO GET THE JOB DONE IN SO MANY GLARING WAYS.

The nicest observation I can share about Borderline Personality, Placeholder PM STEVE Today is That He Is So Much Yesterday’s NEWS !!

ALMOST Every Canadian Who Is Even Half Paying Attention & Possesses An I.Q. greater Than Their Shoe Size Knows Intuitively For A Fact That STEPHEN Judas Joseph Joke HARPER HAD / HAS NO CONFIDENCE IN HIMSELF AND HE HAD / HAS NO CONFIDENCE IN HIS CAUCUS !!

DOES STEVE HARPER DESERVE THE CONFIDENCE OF WESTERN CANADIANS ?

DOES STEVE HARPER DESERVE THE RESPECT OF WESTERN CANADIANS ?

MY ANSWERS (and the answers of many, many INTELLIGENT, INFORMED, CONCERNED and CARING WESTERN Canadians) ARE : ABSOLUTELY NOT and ABSOLUTELY NOT !!

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT : WHO CARES ABOUT PLACEHOLDER PM STEVE … WHO POSSESSES NO Confidence In Himself AND NO Confidence, In His Own, Pretty Much Hand PICKED CAUCUS ??

      THAT’S IT … THAT’S ALL … FOLKS !!

    • Tim Sullivan says:

What baggage does he carry but who his father was? Please, the Libs have a snowball’s chance in Alberta at the best of times. Having Trudeau, any Trudeau, is not a negative anymore than if we had Lougheed at the helm.

Those Albertans can’t get over the NEP. They’re like the fickin’ Irish with their memories.

Having said that…..in jest…..he does appear to be the only Grit who can create a buzz…..and by the number of events posted on Liberal.ca that he is attending this month….I would suspect that he is indeed planning to run…..

  15. Matt G. says:

I do hope he runs. That way, the leadership race won’t just be “old white guys more or less agree with each other on everything.” He’ll bring some much needed media attention to the race, and even if he doesn’t win, generate some interest in the party. As someone who moved to the NDP during the last election due to Iggy’s uninspiring leadership (and a little bit of strategic voting), Justin running may just be enough to bring me back to the fold.

    • JamesHalifax says:

      Matt G….

I hope he does run and bring you back into the Liberal fold.

Somewhat Ironic though isn’t it? The current leader of the NDP isn’t a real socialist, he’s a Liberal…and the current Leader of the Liberal party isn’t a real Liberal…..he’s a socialist.

At least with Justin you get both. Lifetime Liberal Party supporter…..who thinks like a socialist.
