The TDSB is running way over their budget.
Typical tactics in politics: they propose cuts to areas that are likely to receive the most resistance (e.g. playgrounds), so that they can persuade the government that they tried to cut their spending and hope that the government gives them more money. Too bad. Not this time. The TDSB has enormous expenditures and can find cuts elsewhere. This is just a publicity stunt.
