Funny, but I’m not sure what they are trying to communicate there. Is Olivia Chow the alternative? Are there any moderate/centrist candidates? Even a sane & competent conservative (if you can find one) would be an improvement.
ROFL!
Funny, 6 months ago I would cough up a lung before even considering Chow, but I believe that she could broker agreements, and make the city run a whole lot better than the outgoing. After Ford, almost any City politician from the centre or the left looks equally attractive. We need to settle down to a rational frame of mind, where we consider the candidates on their own merits, instead of telling ourselves, ‘Well, she is NOT Rob Ford, so why not?
TStar is reporting on a poll that shows Chow would win any multiple-contender mayoralty race.
‘Course the poll was done by Forum.
Never mind.
She would probably win Downtown but not in the Suburbs. There must be some credible candidates out there or is the gene pool that shallow in T.O.?
It depends. She probably has the capacity to raise a lot of money and use her likability to appeal to a broad cross section. If she runs, I would think other left wing candidates would be discouraged from running.
