PLEASE TELL SANDRA TO GRAB A BULLHORN AND SPEAK FROM THE HEART!

HER ONLY HOPE IS… HER CHARACTER, HER MOXIE, HER LEADERSHIP SKILLS!

    • Bloody Bounder says:

      KENNEDY IS MESHUGGE

      FUCK YOU GERARD

TO THINK I WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO SUPPORT YOU AT
THE BEGINNING OF THE OLP LEADERSHIP ELECTION.

  2. dillon says:

Peterson wad the curse. Too bad.

  3. Kinsey says:

Thanks, Gerard Kennedy, for sending two Liberal dynasties to oblivion. Way to go.

    • James Smith says:

This jerk doesn’t have a seat, & never will. I guess OLP can do without my 25+ years of ABC contributions

      • Bloody Bounder says:

Thanks, Gerard Kennedy, for giving the LPC Dion and most likely the OLP Wynne,
two decent individuals, who are unelectable and viewed by Canadians/Ontarians
in suburban/rural areas as out of touch, ivory tower, aloof, tree hugging elites.
You are doing more to help Harper and Hudak than anyone else.

    • Derek Pearce says:

He really is a jerk isn’t he. I met him twice and he rubbed me the wrong way. Just sayin’.

    • I’m beginning to get a real hate-on for Kennedy myself. Dude seriously doesn’t seem to get it at all.

      • Stew B says:

Sheesh… it is ludicrous to blame Kennedy for the final outcome. I was in there when Kennedy announced to his delegates he was going with Wynne. All he said was “do what you feel is best” and his delegates each made their own decision… to support Wynne on the 3rd ballot. That’s democracy at work. Both Wynne and Pupatello were great candidates. All we can do now it watch the future unflold.

  4. James Di Fiore says:

    And….she Wynnes.

  5. Tim Little says:

Political consultants for next 10 years will show clients the Wynne speech – to illustrate the confidence with which a leader needs project a winning style to recover from a flubbed line. Best speech by miles. So does Pup retreat to Bay Street or run in the WT seat soon to be vacant?

  6. Mark Morabito says:

I knew they would gang up on her. And said so 6 weeks ago here and Warren replied and said what would happen if they did. Brace yourselves.

  7. George says:

Not a great weekend , eh?

  8. Kevin says:

Wynne is too far left to lead the Liberals to victory.

  9. Joe Harrington says:

Wow…you guys are worse than the trolls at The Sun forums.

  10. Bloody Bounder says:

URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL ONTARIO LIBERAL PARTY DELEGATES:

IF YOU ARE READING THIS MESSAGE PERHAPS WHILE STANDING IN LINE TO VOTE
ON THE THIRD BALLOT, PLEASE SERIOUSLY CONSIDER YOUR CHOICES. AS MUCH
AS WYNNE MAY APPEAL TO YOUR HEART (AS SHE DOES MINE), YOU MUST KEEP
IN MIND THAT ONLY, I REPEAT ONLY, PUPATELLO IS ELECTABLE OUTSIDE OF THE
CITY OF TORONTO. IF WYNNE BECOMES THE NEXT LEADER OLP LEADER AND
ONTARIO PREMIER, TIM HUDAK’S AMERICAN REPUBLICAN-STYLE CONSERVATIVES
STAND A VERY GOOD CHANCE OF FORMING A MAJORITY GOVERNMENT DURING
THE NEXT PROVINCIAL ELECTION, WHICH COULD COME AT ANY TIME, SINCE THE
OLP ONLY HAVE A MINORITY GOVERNMENT.

ALL DELEGATES REPRESENTING KENNEDY, HOSKINS AND SOUZA…PLEASE DISREGARD
THE AFORMENTIONED THREE INDIVIDUALS’S ENDORSEMENT OF WYNNE. PLEASE THINK
WITH YOUR HEAD, NOT WITH YOUR HEART. PLEASE VOTE FOR SANDRA PUPATELLO, THE
ONLY CANDIDATE WHO CAN WIN A FOURTH MANDATE FOR THE ONTARIO LIBERAL PARTY.
WYNNE IS A WONDERFUL LADY. I SUPPORT HER POLICIES MORE THAN I DO THOSE OF
PUPATELLO, BUT, AND ITS A BIG BUT, WYNNE IS REGARDED AS TOO TORONTO-CENTRIC
AND CANNOT, I REPEAT, CANNOT APPEAL TO THE REST OF ONTARIO AT ALL. DON’T MAKE
A MISTAKE OF HISTORIC PROPORTIONS. A VOTE TODAY FOR WYNNE IS A VOTE BY DEFAULT
    FOR THE HUDAK CONSERVATIVES.

PLEASE VOTE FOR PUPATELLO. DO THE RIGHT THING. DO THE LOGICAL THING. GO WITH
THE CHOICE THAT HAS THE BEST CHANCE OF WINNING IN A GENERAL ELECTION, EVEN
IF THAT CHOICE DOES NOT APPEAL TO YOU PERSONALLY. THINK AND VOTE STRATEGICALLY.
ITS A BIG WORLD OUTSIDE OF THE ONTARIO LIBERAL PARTY LEADERSHIP CONVENTION AND
    THE CITY OF TORONTO.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF G-D VOTE FOR SANDRA. SHE IS THE ONLY ONE WITH THE MOXY AND CHUTZPAH
TO WIN THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION.

A VOTE FOR WYNNE IS A LOSING VOTE IN A GENERAL ELECTION. WYNNE CANNOT FEND OFF HUDAK,
ONLY SANDRA CAN STOP HIM. THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU VOTE!.

    • Billy boy says:

Nothing emits the stench of defeat and desperation than an all caps grovelling message.

    • mks from Durham says:

Wow, incredible anger from the Pupites!

I would like to know what evidence you have that Pupatello could win – the polls (while you can question Forum, its the hardest evidence we have) suggest only Kennedy could win a majority, and there is not significant difference in ‘winnability’ between Wynne and Pupatello. Its ok to try and sell your candidate that way, but don’t get mad at fellow delegates that don’t share your ‘gut-feel’ on electability.

That said, I know personally from being a Kennedy delegate in 96, what it feels like to be with a candidate that leads all the way through, and then is beaten on the last ballot. It sucks, and you do want to lash out angrily at others you think denied your victory. Its tough to let it go and move on. My condolences to Sandra and all her delgates!

      • mks from Durham says:

P.S. Warren, I met you very briefly at the convention and in the 2 minutes we spoke, you did not sound nearly like the curmudgeon that you come across as on this web site. On your best behaviour at the convention or just temporarily stepping out of character? lol.
At the time we spoke, you were asking some other Kennedy delgates what they thought they were doing for the third ballot, and it sounded like they were more interested in giving you hell for something Sandra had done in the past. You seemed quite calm and diplomatic and didn’t rip their deads off, although I think I might have caught some eye-rolls. I asked if you were taking your band on the road full time and you answered quite humbly. Did not seem quite like the bombastic person, that I was expecting!

    • mks from Durham says:

Bloody Bounder, just wondering if this makes you an “all…caps… Liberal!!” (Thank you Eric Hoskins, for that interesting speech one liner.)

  11. Chubsy Ubsy says:

Headline everywhere else in Ontario utside of the GTA.

    “Pupatello Gets Screwed by TORONTO!”

  12. Patrick says:

Liberals want a progressive, so do the New Democrat moderates they need to keep onside to win.

Angry right wing liberalism appeals to no one.

  13. pod says:

3 strikes Gerard and you are out- can hardly wait to see it and do it

  14. po'd says:

    The Reformaliberal wing is angry.

  15. Bloody Bounder says:

    Dear Warren,

Is there still a realistic chance that Sandra can pull it off?. Please tell us what you honestly think.

    • Niall says:

      Dear BB,

So, Magder loses, and Kathleen Wynnes.

Not been a particularly Good Weekend eh?

You forgot to mention your wrap around sun glasses, tattooed muscle arms,

tough guy stare, NASCAR and WWE magnet bumper stickets on your 1998
1/2 Ton Truck, empty “two fours” of Molson X in the flatbed, shotgun rack
just under the tinted rear window, and of course your summer “tees” which
read “I FIGHT POVERTY I WORK”, “I SUPPORT DIVERSITY…IN MY CHOICE
OF GUNS”, “DON’T STEAL THE GOVERNMENT HATES COMPETITION”, and
“PROUD STRAIGHT WHITE MAN”!. I suspect you and your “workin’ joe”
buddies, who also sport big Nordic white heads and faces are sitting around
this weekend puffing away on Player’s cigerettes in your damp and stale
tobbaco smoke stinking basement, complete with its own home made bar
and moonshine, while you rant and raves about immigration, bilingualism,
multiculturalism, Quebec, affirmative action, gun control, women’s rights,
gay rights, abortion, human rights commissions, progressive taxation,
sexual education in schools, feminists, Barack Obama, and anything else
that you feel gets in the way of the ruggedly individualistic, macho, testrontone
pumped, high school drop out, blue collar, Alpha White Male of British Isles
ancestry from being able to scream “YEE-HAW” with driving his pickup truck
in circles while drunk and blasting his shotgun out the window!. Did I miss
        anything there Niall?!. šŸ˜‰

        • Canada Joe says:

Yeah, you just lost the next election. Ha ha.

        • George says:

What is it about the left going straight to name calling? My bar mitzvah may not have been as elaborate as bloody bounder but I also believe I was taught to be more considerate and not simply lash out with baseless accusations.

          • Jason King says:

Um I wouldnt exactly call Nurie (Bounder) a typical example of right left or anything but Nurie for that matter. Racist? Probably but as a person that veers more to the left on social items, I find her views highly offensive.

Although when I saw a pizza called Mangiacake in an East Vancouver pizzeria, I had to laugh and explain Nurie to my companions. Not surprisingly they all found her posts racist.

I understand where you are coming from in this case George but a generalization about the left is the same as a Bounder generalization. Unnecessary. The best we can hope for Bounder is eventually she gets some help.

  17. Graham says:

    Warren:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Pupatello back Kennedy for leader in 1996 against Dalton?

So much for returning the favor.

Personally, I think Ms. Pupatello’s speech this morning really hurt her. She will “bring the opposition to it’s knees.” Umm, Sandra, the Liberals have a MINORITY.

  18. pod says:

What a terrible mistake made at this convention…Kathleen Wynn wants to hit the ground running..It will be very short lived
Timmy Hudak is now on his way to being the new premiere…Huge Mistake OLP of Toronto

  19. reformatory says:

if kathleen is as organized as she was for this leadership campaign, and if Tom Allison continues to shape her future campaigns… the liberals will be in good hands. She covered all bases and connected the dots a heck of a lot better than Pupatello. Don’t get me wrong, I like Sandra and I did prefer her winning, but considering she had the party establishment and the blessing of McGuinty on her side she sure did not get much help from them. She had no tricks up her sleeve, and she seemed like a deer with headlights at the convention.

Her support network left her out to dry, and her team failed to reach out in the same way that Wynne did. She also failed to win over the caucus members and she failed to convince them to go ith her. The year out of politics sure did some damage to her instincts.

In the end people were nervous about her not having a seat and felt that she was an election hawk as opposed to a bridge builder. In the end this was a statement more about changing course from McGuinty than anything else.

Wynne will have a long uphill battle ahead of her. But she is feisty, and hard working. he is smart and well organized. With the right team and enough time, she does have a way to be inspiring and might be able to endear herself to Ontarians. It might have been easier with Sandra, but the party is better off if they can pull it off with Wynne. It will be more grassroots and more inclusive. She will cooperate more with the NDP and will work harder for Ontarians.

2 things I hope for…. I do wish for Sandra to stick around.. cause her party needs her to help build bridges with Bay Street, and I do hope Greg Sorbara sticks around to pull his magic.

  20. Niall says:

    Hello BB Gun,

Upon reading your demented rant about who you think I am & what I believe (despite the fact that you donā€™t know me and we have never met) I thought I should take the time to set the record straight, mainly for the benefit of others who may have become confused by my silence and perhaps ending up favouring your ā€œinterpretationā€ of my background and worldview.

But first a word of appreciation for the moderators* of netiquette here at WKā€™s website. It seems to me, as a reader for a few years now, that they do a pretty decent job at what probably sometimes can be a thankless and monotonous task (particularly after reading another tired & over-long self published screed, by a frequent & repetitive self-appointed Authority, about a point of discussion not even under consideration by the thread in question). Keep up the good work people: we respect your endeavors to maintain civility.

So, to the matter at hand: basically BB, you probably couldnā€™t have been more wrong about me than even if to be utterly wrong had been your stated intention. Letā€™s go through your witless ā€œshopping listā€ of comic-book caricatures of people you know about only through your late night cable-feed of American TV infotainment, so we can see where your comical ā€œKarrnak the Magnificentā€ Powers of Omniscience are mistaken:

No wrap around sunglasses (I wear ā€˜Aviatorsā€™), or tattoos & piercings. Whatā€™s with the concern with appearances?
No beer belly, shaved head (prefer a No. 2 ā€˜Wahlā€™, thx), or western boots
No ā€˜Grapesā€™ stare (pref. DeNiro), No NASCAR/WWF bump. stickers (I sport an Ireland flag,a Ron Jonā€™s Surf SHop, and CAA, etc.)
My truck is not a flatbed (itā€™s an extended cab w/ a 5ā€™ box) so any beers that iā€™d have there (such as, say, Fort Garry Pale Ale, in bottles) wont slide out off the side
No shotgun rack (nor a sliding rear window), though if I had one it would be for a nice 12 ga. Remington, for goose/pheasant/partridge etc., since it now seems legal again to posses a long bird-gun
No summer tees. I wear soccer jerseys (although Iā€™d have to agree with the some of the sentiments expressed in your choice of excellent Tee slogans)
My buddies encompass such a wide and varied cross-section of society I will not even try to describe or classify them, other than to say they are my friends not because our opinions and rants match, but because they differ
I smoke Malboroughs and Cuban cigars (occasionally)
My basement is unfinished and contains a washer, dryer, steam boiler, and a workshop
No moonshine (pref. red or white wine, season depending). Oh, and Scotch
Not a high-school drop out. Iā€™m an Engineering Technologist, and am currently in my 3rd year of Undergraduate Philosophy at Winnipeg’s only Liberal-Arts University
Not Protestant. Iā€™m Catholic: the one original true and universal Church. God bless her and all who sail in her.
Not Anglo-Saxon. Iā€™m Scots-Irish. In fact, weā€™re believed to be ā€˜black Irishā€™, but I canā€™t confirm that. By the way, the above two observations about me are bordering on an insult to both my Creed & Nationality (although you could not have known). In any case I do not (and never will) feel the need to apologize for the Historical achievements of the ā€˜Anglo-Sphereā€™: Winning 3 World Wars, and democratizing Europe is a noble testimony to the virtue of our beliefs and actions

In short, your entire fakir like ability to divine that which is unbeknownst to you is in great need of a trip to the shop to be tore down, re-calibrated, and refurbished. ā€˜Cause it just ainā€™t gettin er done!

But more to the point, while you raise some discussion items (as if they were agenda topic headings for a Saturday morning wet-left indoctrination session at a weekend campground getaway sponsored by (pick any one) of several Fed./Prov. Public Sector Unions) you have made a crucial mistake if you think you have a hot clue about what my opinions on any of them might be. Well, except for Bam-Bam: he is, without question, an empty suit with a teleprompter for an ethos.

Another point: whatā€™s with the nom de plume? I was taught to stand up and be counted for my beliefs. To have to hide behind an pseudonym (BB? Short for Beta Boy?) is approaching either subterfuge or craven anonymity (or both).

But I suppose my objections to your diatribe would centre on two main points:
First, your decision to post your opinion of a matter about which you have absolutely NO FACTUAL INFORMATION. This is a gross mistake, and of such a fundamental character, that it really calls into question the validity of ANY opinion that you may have.
Second, and perhaps even more important, your prejudiced chauvinism, and broad slanderings of middle, and/or lower middle class Canadians is crude to the point of disbelief. While you may think that an aesthetic stance may defend and exempt you from the judgements of others on the rightness of such bizarre slurs, I can tell you emphatically, they do not! You are no more that a crass bigot, and it is your own words which show you to be exactly that.

And now, matters having been cleared up I think Iā€™ll take my dogs for a stroll on the Red River Winter Skate & Walking Trail, here in Winnipeg, MB (home to Canadaā€™s largest French Canadian population outside of Quebec!)

PS: * Iā€™m making the assumption that the moderators are humans, and not some form of cybernetic abstraction šŸ˜‰
