Toronto needs a mayor: Ford supports convicted murderer

You can’t even make this shit up, anymore.

Why doesn’t Rob Ford go and join his cronies behind bars, where they all seem to be found? He’d be happier, and so would we.

But why a man with a history of alcohol abuse have such a close relationship with a tow truck guy? I’m puzzled here.

You have to wonder how many late night phone calls have ended with “Don’t worry Rob, I’ll get you pulled out”

        If only his father had.

        • Warren says:

I have heard a number of times that Ford Sr. was a very nice man.

Here’s a question I’ve never heard anyone ask: Just where the hell was Daddy Ford while his children were all developing into a motley collection of drug dealers/users, criminals, fuck-ups and thugs?

          • John D. says:

Yeah, I know, but that’s kinda my point. Surely if any of this had gotten out back when Ford Sr. was one of Mike Harris’ henchmen, it would have been horribly embarrassing at best. If not actually damaging to both himself and his Party. I can’t imagine Harris was a very tolerant boss. That would have been reason enough for the man to step in and do something about his burgeoning flock of little criminals. Why didn’t he?

You’ll be whistling a different tune when he visits you in prison after hours with a carton of smokes and then writes a letter to a judge imploring your immediate release on compassionate grounds. At the very least he might ask Don Peat to send you a 150 dollar gift basket (with extra pistachios and a file).

Or in this universe he’ll just go have a beer and smoke some crack.

Olivia Chow’s candidacy will ensure that Rob Ford is elected to a second term. Believe it.

    On city letterhead.

oh god. I sprayed coffee on my screen.

I should know better than to read this shit while drinking coffee.

I think Chow can beat Ford– maybe not easily or by a huge margin, but by a comfortable enough margin to have a quite legitimate mandate. Many moderates who voted for “Ford the everyman” are put off by his boorishness and other antics and regret their decision. Chow is not just a candidate of latte lefties– for instance, I think it’s safe to say she’d sew up most of the vote of middle-class minorities who feel it’s time for a change from a string of white guys.
