Loove Martin Short….hes a Canadian treasure……..he used to do the best PET impression during his days at SCTV…..Dave Thomas did a pretty good Joe Clark too as I recall….I can find lots of old SCTV clips….but never that one of them debating in the HOC…..
Okay, get the SCTV box set and show it to your son, STAT! This is an educational shortcoming that can yet be addressed. There is still time. Fred Rogers in a boxing ring? Timeless.
I must agree. There is a serious shortcoming in his 1970s Canadian TV knowledge and not knowing Ed Grimley and Jackie Rogers, along with other SCTV alumwho authored and performed in some timeless sketches must be addressed. There are so many times references could be appropriate contemporarily.
I cannot look at Rob Ford and not think of John Candy as Johnny LaRue. Put a cig in RoFo’s hand and an ad for LaRue Towers in the background….after all ROFO is no Tommy Shanks.
DVDs for Christmas and have an evening with the family… the Kinsella’s Canadian Comedy Night..and throw in a few Codcos for us “out east”. Some funny stuff there too.
He’s kind a creepy
He’s hilarious, and from what I’ve heard, a genuinely nice guy.
.. the score.. what’s the score .. never mind the Short guy, unless he can score ..

Warren, we’re much of an age but I’m not sure I could pick Martin Short out in a crowd. I’ve heard the name but are you sure he’s a movie star?
Three Amigos, Father of the Bride, Father of the Bride 2….
That’s all I got off the top of my head.
Sorry, never heard of them. I guess I don’t get out enough.

Refresh my memory –
Did Fred Rogers knock out Julia Child or did Child knock out Rogers?

He was a judge on Canada’s Got Talent last year!
Well, say what you want, but I find this very exciting I must say!
Next time you sit behind Harper at a Leafs game, please report back on whether his hair is all his.
This hurts…it really hurts.
Movie Star … really? You should have said Cat in the Hat was in front of you. That and Kelly’s sometimes co-host on Live.
