I’m not quite sure how Amanda Lang continues to have a job at CBC, as opposed to RBC
…but she does. (And, hearing that Raj Ahluwalia – a journalist of exceptional integrity – was on the other side of this latest CBC ethical mess renders, for me, Lang’s ongoing employment even more bewildering.)

The woman is a shameless shill but she does it well. It’s so inconspicuous that she gets away with it. Which also makes her shameless. This is where I give that venomous slag, Anne Coulter credit. At least she’s a bile, fueled cow and embraces it. Lang, is more like a long term, invisible virus. Like herpes. On the surface she appears like everything is fine but lurking beneath the skin is a puss, filled blister.

It really is quite upsetting. As Canada’s national, PUBLIC broadcaster the CBC should be better, way better than this. But they aren’t. I think the entire management structure at CBC needs to be blown up and rebuilt.

I crack up when I see so many people think the current CBC is the ‘old true Canadian’ CBC. Don’t be so naive. It’s the Conservative Broadcasting Corporation. Corruption comes from the top, so it’s no surprise that when it’s run by the Cons, people within the organization think it’s OK to do what’s best for them and to heck with the rest. The Cons feed the culture of entitlement and, dare I say, they probably even plan it in order to erode Canadian interest in our ‘public’ broadcaster.
Liam, Plus 1 and then some. The cons have been threatening the CBC since the were elected so all of this makes a lot of sense.
That’s just about the stupidest comment I’ve ever read about the CBC. I sincerely doubt you could peddle that conspiracy nonsense in a room full of Liberals without at least half of ’em choking. And any Conservatives would be rolling on the floor and pissing themselves laughing at you!

The Harper gov’t hue and cry over the CBC is nothing more than crocodile tears and empty bluster in order to soothe the base. They are the Trojan Horse and are now inside the gates. They will dismantle it from within while using it to promote their agenda. Watch how all the news out of CBC will support Harper in the lead up to the next election.
I like Jesse Brown, he does great work, and this is a great A scoop.

I saw Amanda Lang a few months ago in a Rosedale nail salon (as I was waiting for my wife during her pedicure) and she was absolutely miserable looking. She had a scowl on her mug for about an hour, refused to get her nose out of her blackberry and even make eye contact with the woman doing her nails. She looks like a total b*tch in person and acted like one too. Fake smile, fake personality, fake everything.
The CBC needs to boot her to the curb, she’s got a toxic and draining presence about her.
As a former CBC on air host I gave speeches, rode in parades and hosted endless fundraisers for charity. All without pay, to help put our show into the community. Of course this wasn’t Toronto.
