Flora Power

Sad to learn about this.

When we lived in Kingston, my parents voted for her. I think it was the first time either of them had ever voted Conservative. She was that kind of a person.

RIP.

    Warren,

Integrity, first. Don’t see much of that these days in politics.

When I was a grad student, after she retired from active politics, Flora interviewed me for a job on the hill. She was a class act and one of the great Kingston MPs.

    Thanks for posting this Warren.

She was a throw back to politicians who would spend time with people, even not during an election cycle. Quality individual who will be missed.

I was always a fan of Flora, even though I was never a Tory. RIP.

Flora was a person who served the people and we trusted her for that.

I can’t think of a better legacy than that.

Flora was a good and decent person who genuinely believed in civic duty and public service. She was the kind of politician we need to make our system work in all parties, and her passing is one noted in my family with great sadness. She was a good woman, and will be missed.

She not only cared about her political beliefs, she cared about how they impacted people, and she cared about people in general, that was what drove her into politics and made her such a wonderful person in politics. She should remind us all how we used to practice politics in this nation federally not so long ago and cause all of us to hand our heads in shame for allowing things to degenerate to such a depth as has become our reality, wherever you sit on the political spectrum!
