I was visited this evening by a couple of young campaigners for Sonia Sidhu. First of any party to darken my doorstep since the writ was dropped.
I was impressed with both their enthusiasm, and their explanation of the Liberal middle class tax policy . They asked who I was going to vote for, then gave me a blank stare when I asked them if they had heard of bill C-51 but still, credit where credit is due. Libs are first out the gate in these parts.
Is he going to wear boxing trunks at the photo op?
Maybe Kory was right. Getting JT (not John Turner, another boy wonder, who failed to win either of his 2 elections that he was Liberal leader) to put a pair of pants on will be an achievement for tomorrow night’s debate.
A 9:15 a.m. photo op is way too early and unnecessary for such an important day. TM blows the first half-week of the campaign preparing for a debate, and JT decides to waste a couple hours the day of debate for a completely meaningless photo op. Seems pretty cocky too.
People will question what the hell is JT doing at a photo op at a boxing club when he should be preparing for the debate.
He does well in the evening, all is forgotten. He doesn’t, the stupidity of this photo op (stunt) will most surely be discussed over and over again after the debate. It will reveal extreme bad judgment on his part (for having not nixed the scheduler’s addition on debate day) and reveal he is too immature (unfocused) to be prime minister.
JT had a streak of doing better than others expected until he fell from first to third a few months ago. I have to say he appeared invincible for a few years there. Today (Thursday) will reveal if we have the former or later JT. I wouldn’t dare predict.
No. It means he’s going to wake up early, workout and then go do his job. Same thing a lot of Canadians do everyday. (And, depending on the day, maybe enjoy a beer with friends.)
It would not surprise me in the least if Trudeau’s schedule is deliberately being kept light for the first few weeks. He has not really faced the full grind of a campaign as a leader, and was basically anointed instead of really winning the leadership. Even his riding campaign in 2008 against an incumbent Barbot was not that demanding. Mulcair and obviously Harper are much more known quantities, and frankly aren’t nearly as dependent on personal charisma – Harper has been cranky and tired since about July 2005.
Between that ‘marathon not a sprint’ aspect, and the fact that the Liberals simply don’t have the funds to maintain steady advertising salvos for the whole campaign, my expectation is that they will be managing to try to peak late. The obvious risk is that they could slip into irrelevance in the first stages, but I think they are counting on voters taking a step back from the NDP to think as the ballot draws closer.
What’s the big deal, a picture of Justin with his shirt off can’t hurt, the guy is VERY fit. I’d rather see that then Steve with his gut hanging over his pants.
Steve can work the retirement homes, Justin needs to get out and meet young people.
Uh-huh… pander to the people who only talk about voting and ignore the ones that actually do. Winning formula right there. And the Libs are only 3rd place?
“At 11:00 am, Mr. Trudeau (‘call me Justin’) will visit Toronto Island, where he will be available to be hugged violently by adoring hippies.”
C’mon, Liberals, some of you are getting too cranky. Get a grip. There is nothing wrong with this. This sort of thing is his strength and he has plenty of time left to speak to Chambers of Commerce.
11 weeks…good idea for anyone to look after herself or himself physically. It can affect everything else positively…or negatively if they do not stay fit.
is senator brazeau gonig too?

It might be enough to keep him in the news all day when there is nothing else to talk about.
The news is the Debate.

Well…….no where to go but up, right?
Uh….I got nothing. So do Team Trudeau too it seems. This is the best they could do????

Yes, Justin should ignore retirement homes.

This is the video the liberals released….https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq8USQbOWLs It is being widely circulated…and not necessarily by Liberals.
Maybe Steve can post a video of Himself playing hockey to show that he’s just like the rest of us.
