I suppose I should like him because his NEP allowed me to buy a really nice home really cheap after the entire block of homes was abandoned and foreclosed. The bank sold it to me fro what was left on the mortgage several years later. They had so many properties they just took the hit and sold them all at cost.
Some believed that Pierre was more of a Dipper than a Liberal, but he preferred power over political principles. “Just watch me……”
Great intellect.
Great passion.
Great Prime Minister.
And, he had balls. Like all great leaders should.
> And, he had balls. Like all great leaders should.
Figuratively, one presumes.
You can say that again.
My grandmother always said if you can’t say anything nice about the dead, don’t say anything at all…
Great PM.
Underrated by those who weren’t around when he was PM. No one is perfect, but he made Canada a better place.

Nah, you can thank the 80s oil crash for that. Just like the crash that’s occured this year. All eggs, 1 basket etc etc.
Derek Pearce: It was the NEP that made the oil crash!
Compared to what was going on in the rest of what passed for the Western world during that time, I think we got off relatively easy.
Truly a great Prime Minster.
Unfortunately many people here can’t refrain from vitriol even when the occasion calls for respect or at worst silence.
Your Honor, the Crown rests its case.
I’m afraid that I don’t share your enthusiasm for PET.
Brion Pollon: I feel the same about PET he did more harm than good. PET and his multiculturalism, then NEP and what it did to Alberta’s oil industry.
