Maybe the rebel’s journalist needs a bit more time to troll Marin’s past internet comments for you.

I’d love to, Warren, but it seems you’ve blocked me on Twitter and I can’t seem to see your post.

It’s unfortunate that liberals in universities can’t be as tolerant of (or even open to) opposing views as you are.

    • SG says:

      Actually, correction to my post.

It’s unfortunate that PROGRESSIVES in universities can’t be as tolerant of (or even open to) opposing views as you are.

Big difference between a liberal and a progressive.

        > Big difference between a liberal and a progressive. –

Yeah, most Liberals often campaign as progressives but they are often just opportunistic and will say anything to get elected. While our good host Warren is definitely a Liberal, he doesn’t follow that which goes to show there’s an exception to every rule.

Totally OT, but in hopes Warren will comment with a post…

Just watched CNN’s “Town Hall” with Carson, Rubio and Cruz. About 40 minutes of Anderson Cooper and questions from audience for each.

I hope people in Canada’s MSM took notice, because this format is precisely what is missing on this of the border! It was EXCELLENT, informative, and even enjoyable. Candidates got to be actually human for a change.

It made the “debate” format basically stink in comparison.

    FWIW.

    ( Oh, and BTW…Rubio was awesome. )

    • Warren says:

Agree. Really liked it. Cooper is a pro, however. You need someone with that skill set.

    • davie says:

I caught Carson and part of Rubio. I agree with what you say. Carson was allowed to show what a pleasant person he is.
Maybe media has to wait for the audience measurements, though, to see whether this format sells better than verbal caged royal rumble.

    • Maps Onburt says:

I agree Al. I caught Rubio’s section and I was quite impressed. Its amazing what content you can get to when you aren’t trying to out quip each other. Frankly, I think debates are as stupid as question period and both should be consigned to the dust bin of history in current form. If they did that, you wouldn’t end up with hacks like Trump or debate machines like Cruz on top. I suspect politicians like Kaish, Rubio and Carson would do a lot better.

        Maps…

Been following GOP primary. Here’s an interesting poll, from among many.

        http://americanresearchgroup.com/pres2016/primary/rep/screp.html

There’s definitely a trend here. Maybe the Nikki Haley factor, maybe Cruz is pushing the ethics envelope to hard (absolutely!), and maybe Rubio is just this good…or all of the above.

I think Saturday night is going to be a bit of a shocker. If it is, it should lead to both Bush and Carson pulling out, and Kasich not far behind…and a panic attack for Cruz, because once it gets down to three, he’s finished. That support will line up behind Rubio.

Then it becomes a two man race. And I suspect Cruz supporters, real Conservatives, will move in far greater numbers to Rubio than Trump.

Trump unfavorable numbers are very high, the worst among Republicans, and Rubio’s are the lowest by far. Trump’s support tops out at 35% to 40%, and that just ain’t going to cut it.

Link to all the polling, which are all over the damn place!

        • davie says:

I looked at realclearpolitics yesterday, especially the Quinnipiac poll on a national election.
Clinton beats Trump by a wee bit, but she loses to all other Republican contenders.
          Sanders beats all republican contenders.
What I found especially intriguing was Kasich beating Clinton by the most points, and he was closest to Sanders.

The tv clip last night of Kasich with that kid was worth a few votes.

          • Al in Cranbrook says:

Kasich’s a good man. Just not “presidential”, IMHO.

Democrat on CNN last night said that the ticket that worries him the most is Rubio/Kasich. No doubt Rubio/Haley also gives Dems sleepless nights.

Take a look at some of the polling on favorable and unfavorable ratings. Trump consistently scores badly, as does Cruz close behind him. Either would be a gift to the Democrats.

I just cannot hack Cruz! His campaign is just sleaze piled on top of more sleaze. Why Christians have the time of day for either of these clowns absolutely confounds rationale!

          • The Doctor says:

Cruz has benefited massively to this point from simply not being Trump, and from the fact that Trump has taken up so much of the media’s and the public’s attention. None of our facebook friends are posting anti-Cruz screeds, are they? Whereas Trump . . .

Yet Cruz is every bit as much as asshole as Trump, and in fact far more extreme, right-wing and socially conservative. He’s getting one of the greatest free rides in US political history right now.

He’ll, if you wanted to go conspiratorial, you could theorize that Trump is a Tea Party plant who’s been inserted into the race to divert attention away from what a dick Cruz is.

        • Maps Onburt says:

Thanks Al. I think you are right. A Rubio/Haley ticket would win. I can’t stand Trump or Cruz and I don’t think either will go the distance. Too many enemies and the mainstream won’t support either. If they win, most republicans will stay home and I’m not talking about the GOP establishment. That said, it is fun to watch Trump explode heads on the Progressive side. Neither Sanders nor Hillary could ever get elected president. Sanders is further left than the NDP. The US ain’t never going there… That said, sanders is getting a boost because dems have no where elise to park their vote.
