The new Ontario PC thing, and the Ontario PC challenge

Three things:

  1. Don’t talk publicly about making sausages.
  2. It’s messy and complicated.  Looks like a leaping green fish or something.
  3. They sound like they’re trying to convince themselves.  Never a good thing.

What Brown did was remarkable – he wanted something, he worked hard to get it, and he actually took over a political dynasty. They said he couldn’t do it, but he did it.

But you don’t win elections with logos.  You win them with better ideas, a better team, and a better story.

He has the party he wanted.  Does he now have the better ideas, team and story he needs?

Nice story about how the brand represents the new thinking and team. But even as a dyed in the wool conservative voter, let me be the first to say the colour version of that logo looks like shit.

Why is there a leprechauns junk in the middle of the thing?

is it me or does Brown look like Steve Nash’s missing brother
the millenials will have a field day with the logo. i know the green bit is supposed to look trillium like or something but this ain’t Bill Davis’s Ontario anymore.
the video is ridiculous. same old white bread agency must have come with this swill.
The Underwoods are back. Yoohoo. it’s binge time.
Actually, the music in this shitty video sounds like the opening theme of House of Cards. How appropriate.

    House of Cards theme.

holy shit what a ripoff. 1 minute mark. It’s so obvious even a tone deaf strat hacker like me noticed right away. I’d sue their asses off. copy the other guy and claim it as your own. pffffft

The new logo sucks; it’s trying to be everything to everyone and in the end conveys nothing. The green leaf addition? Seriously?

Moreover, in the linear (not stacked) version, the C strongly resembles the Pac Man icon – ready to chomp it’s way through (crunch, crunch, crunch) and then spit out (yuck!) all of those leftist Liberal policies that keep the party up at night.

    It rates a C-.

I thought with logos the KISS principle applies……I find the logo fussy and the colours jarring…..but Im sure its been run through tons of focus groups, so what the hell do I know…..
When Patrick Brown was leader of the Federal PC Youth……it was evident then that he was destined for greater things……
He wasn’t afraid to take on Joe Clark…..and I suspect his insurrection was one reason years later the merged Conservative Party did away with a Youth wing……..
Boldness is one of his main attributes, and I would not be surprised if his leadership of the Ontario PC’s goes well….that he won’t make a run for the leadership of the Fed. Conservatives some day.

    • PJH says:

An addendum…..If this post came off as “pro Brown” I’m not……A lot of us who supported Mr. Clark despised him for his disloyalty……but he did have a following(mainly starry-eyed nubiles and Stephen Harper wannabes) as I recall…..

    • Rod says:

If Brown was destined for greater things Stephen Harper never saw it, because he never took him off the back bench.

I saw Patrick on the Michael Coren show when
he was an MP.He came across as unthoughtful,
    teaparty-like and annoying.When I see him now,
I have to pinch myself-all of sudden he is
(or pretends to be) a moderate, civilised leader.
    I am suspicious.

    off topic.

    state funerals.

why is it women never get them. don’t mean disrespect but why not one for a June Callwood or someone similar. Seems strange to me.

  9. bluegreenblogger says:

That logo is terrible. It is incoherent. Whose vanity project was it?

  10. P. Brenn says:

no need for new logo…especially goofy one ..its distracting so may will distract foes…..or not
