The fires raging there are truly frightening. Hoping that all are in a safe spot, or on their way to one.
Meanwhile, the bloody CBC New Channel is talking about the Senate.

Scary sight. I am in Northern Alberta at least a couple times per year, and there is always a big fire somewhere it seems. That one looks pretty bad. I don’t know how those spruce bogs ever dry out enough to catch fire, but they do.

They broke off the senate conversation and have been on Fort Mac since. Looks like a main problem is the evacuation route, only #63, and they are telling evacuees to go north. Airport closed. Several communities under mandatory evacuation, including down town.
I’ve experienced the smoke from these over the years, and the smoke i see on tv looks pretty bad.
Meanwhile, CTV is Telling me about the Tony awards.

The Fort McMurray fire has his homex2. In 1993 our house burnt down and my wife was devastated, losing everything. Then a wildfire hit Slave Lake where my youngest son lives. Fortunately his home was spared and on a visit he chauffeured my around to witness the extent of damage from the fire storm. I know first hand how hard it is to cope with such a loss, especially for women!
