“Canada Post admits it has a backlog of about 50,000 grievances for 52,000 unionized members. More than 700 are dismissal cases.”

While the number of grievances has gone down to 35,000, this will not hit arbitration for 2 years.

I know someone that is dealing with a Canada Post harassment case before the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, and Canada Post management had the 2015 Law Society of Alberta president, Kevin Feth, represent them (against a 25-year-old guy self-representing himself). A “Goliath vs. David” case if there was ever one. CP President Deepak Chopra will spend whatever money necessary to keep the status quo at Canada Post.
