Freddy Pompeii of the Viletones died last night. RIP. Here’s SFH paying tribute to his band.
A punk’s punk, Freddie was a character.
Freddie was the ‘Star’ in my first real band, ‘The Secrets’.
He, Chris Haight and Johnny Hamilton were my guides and heroes back when I was just a kid from Scarborough.
Rest In Peace Freddie! And Thanks for the memories!
I’m so glad we had a chance to play together again in 2015. Thanks Gary Topp for making that a reality, as well as the benefit earlier this year!
And to all Freddie’s friends and Family, my heartfelt love and empathy go out to you all.
Freddie, you will be remembered, and you’ll always be a star!
