Ok this has passed the point where one can claim stupidity as the explanation for how this $hit all started.
All this just to get a DPA for SNC?
Why is this so desperately needed that they would sacrifice so much political capital?
What leverage does SNC have that would get them to behave this way and basically torch the whole persona that was justin?
That is the question that is nagging me now.
Joseph,
The buck stops in his office. That’s why he’s owning it. He’s Prime Minister.
I and others have written on this site and elsewhere about this.
That most Canadians don’t understand it even now is amazing. I would recommend you read Paul wells’ latest columns. And then read some older columns on the laurentians and Quebec Inc.
The LPC is the political arm of this mafia and Justin is just an employee.
It was John MacCallum… behind the grassy knowl.
Ms. Mallick please hold for the Prime Minister
That’s good. She would somehow make the case that it’s all Harper’s fault.
You left out ‘Earthquake in Red Deer’
Maybe we should Impeach the PM Trudeau!
It is a much simpler process in Canada. It just requires a non-confidence vote.
lyn,
Wrong country.
Remember my irate comment about SNC-Lavalin’s new contract in Ottawa? Look what the CBC is reporting now:

Best solution to help stop the slide, get down on his hands and knees and beg for forgiveness. Yes it would look silly but would probably get a better response than anything he has so far treid
Maybe this will be the end of the dictatorship of the PM. Maybe MPs will not be so beholden to the PM’s whims and desires. As long as the nomination papers require the signature of the Prime Minister, no MP will dare challenge him or her if they want any kind of political future.
It is long past the time for this to end. Give power back to the people.
Good point in Canada, we give our PMs a lot more power than just about any other Western democracy. In countries with PR leaders have a lot of power over their party but since coalitions are the norm, one partner pulls out and government falls. I off course for a variety of reasons oppose this. In both France and US you have separate branches and if they do their job which they are starting to in the US since midterms but not before they hold the president in line. UK which uses our system doesn’t have near the party discipline we do and members within one’s own party breaking ranks occurs quite frequently and in fact resignations of this magnitude is not all that unusual in UK nor is it unusual for several MPs to vote against their own party.
