—The #LavScam stretch job-loss goal
If the SNC-Lavalin CEO says 9,000 jobs were never going to be lost – if he says he never, ever told the government there would 9,000 jobs lost – why does the Trudeau government keep claiming 9,000 jobs will be lost? #LavScam #cdnpoli

Because it sounds better than 10,000 if you’re trying to convince someone to do what you want them to do?
Bruce hasn’t exactly helped Trudeau now has he. The way this is going, it’s not SNC-L that stands to come out of this as the big loser.
Warren, are you buying the early election chatter?
Unbelievable. For weeks now, Trudeau has been repeating ad nauseam that 9,000 Canadian jobs would be lost if SNC-Lavalin were to be convicted, that his priority is saving those jobs – and now the CEO of Lavalin has pulled the rug out from under him by saying, nope, we never told him that and it isn’t true. If the Liberals had hoped to put this behind them, well, it just keeps getting worse and worse.
Montréalaise,
Yeah and even they aren’t going to call an early election under such unexpected and truly mind-boggling circumstances…
Either go now under the SNC cloud or go in October under the Admiral Norman cloud.
Chris,
Mighty good point.
True – but if they call it early, people will wonder why. If they wait, maybe there’s a chance that fewer people will pay attention. That may seem like questionable reasoning, but then again I’m constantly astonished at how little attention people pay to politics in general, and facts in particular.
