—“We now consider the matter closed.” Victory!
For us, the result was never really in doubt. Still, it’s wonderful to receive such a clear statement in writing.
And rest assured, we are never going to stop fighting racism and anti-Semitism and homophobia and misogyny. Never.
Thank you, to all of you, for your support in recent months. It won’t be forgotten.
(Here is the Globe story and here is the CBC story.)
Congratulations. It’s amazing how things can get represented these days. I never doubted your integrity for a second
Only a bag of dicks would assume you didnt do your homework re: the Elections Act.
Good job laddy, proud a ya.
Lead story on The National tonight?
Congratulations on the public vindication, it’s unfortunate that such allegations were even made.
Petty, little, vindictive people do petty, little, vindictive things (and/or they find a job in Trudeau’s PMO). That’s all they know. Reminds me of those same types and their “complaints” to the LSO. Fuck ’em!
Congratulations! As others have mused, I wonder if this vindication will be as widely covered as the original allegations?
Of course not, because that is the way it works in most every situation. Someone is falsely accused of something, and the media whips it into a froth and ruins the person’s reputation. Then the allegations are proven untrue… and crickets.
I’ve often thought a good solution would be to impose upon the (false) accuser the same penalty that the alleged perpetrator would have received, had the allegations been true.
