Said prosecutor was investigating Hunter Biden’s mysterious $50k/month consulting gig with Burisma. A job that H. Biden was notably unqualified for. Joe Biden (as VP) is on record stating $1 billion in aid would be withheld unless the investigation against his son was halted.

As Canadians we often don’t understand the nuances of U.S. presidential politics. Biden initially was not selected to beat Trump. No, I’m not advocating any conspiracy theory or secret collusion between powerful Washington elites.
Rather the simple reality is that presidents generally don’t lose re-election campaigns unless there is major third-party interference (Ross Perot), or some major political scandal erupts. Back when Biden emerged as frontrunner, the economy was rather strong, the COVID pandemic had not yet hit, and this was long before the U.S. erupted in violent protests surrounding racial justice.
So there was no serious reason for Democrats to believe that Trump might not be re-elected.
What was happening within the Democratic Party at the time was internal power-struggle between the party’s centrist wing and the party’s hard left. Speaker Pelosi, who has been around a lot longer than Representative AOC, could see the party’s moderates and centrists being pushed into the GOP. Which is why she carried out an internal purge of AOC’s key activists.
Biden was chosen at the Democratic presidential nominee not so much to beat Trump (although Democrats would not be sad if he emerged as POTUS) but to protect the “Democratic brand” among moderate, centrist, and independent voters for Democratic candidates down-ticket.
Basically, he was chosen to protect Democratic control of the House, and to take back the Senate. It was not until Trump’s handling of COVID and the fallout from George Floyd’s death that Democrats had any real hope of Biden being elected president.

Here’s the thing about an October Surprise: it’s not supposed to be a comedy routine. If this had been an SNL sketch, it would have been hilarious, with Kate McKinnon as Rudy. I’m sure Warren’s readers include lots of folks who have been on campaigns, and we’ve all seen stuff dropped at the last minute. How can anyone–even Rudy–think that this stunt moves a single voter? (And there’s a twist on the story that’s circulating, to the effect that the laptop was dropped off by a drunken Hunter Biden. Makes sense to people who have a few pops, then head out for tech support.)
Although Pompeo releasing Hilary’s emails is a close second. Someone needs to break the news that she isn’t the ballot this year.
The Clinton factor for 2020 are the very facts dribbling out that prove the Clinton campaign concocted the Trump-Russia narrative to draw attention away from the illegal server and the subsequent coverup. The entire Trump presidency has been under this cloud and his administration has been severely hampered by constant bogus (some not so bogus) investigations.
Trump’s own checkered personal and business history , rightly or wrong only lend some credibility to whatever is currently been thrown at him.
The Clintons are the cancer that keeps reoccurring in the Democratic party, Biden just a compliant puppet quickly disposable if he manages to win.
Biggest question for me if Biden wins. Just how do Democrats put the Antifa, BLM, Green New Deal, Defund police hard left genie back in the bottle? Especially if that is the difference in the election.

That is not factual Daryl. That is a lie. So your post is not backed by “factual references”. FFS, the Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee has twice issued reports emphatically concluding that Russia did indeed run a massive election interference operation in 2016. So did the House Intelligence Committee. So did the Mueller Report (you know, the report that Bill Bar lied about).
Trump’s very own Director of National Intelligence is similarly on record. So is the entire US Intelligence community.
