Information from the Conservative Party coming out today suggests pretty strongly that Brown was in the wrong, and didn’t respond to inquiries.
CPC is now giving details. Brown continues to give general responses. Methinks his ship is sunk.
Go for it. The Liberals are down 4-6 points in the polls and the “wrong direction” opinion stats look horrible. Conservatives are energized, young, and attracting prior non-voters. Liberal base is mostly elderly and increasingly angered by inflation, not to mention the citizen-tracking app ArriveCAN which makes travel hell particularly for seniors without smartphones.
A new election would be highly clarifying to the productive people of Canada. Either Poilievre wins and they get their country back, or the Liberals win (possible, given no voter ID laws and a Liberal-friendly head of Elections Canada, who previously suppressed NDP votes in 2021 by ditching on-campus voting) and the non-taxpayers maintain control of the country. The latter would be a good signal to productive young citizens to emigrate, as many have already done.
I see you’ve been carefully following the polls. So, what advice will you give PP so he doesn’t blow a consistent CPC lead the way O’Toole did?
Obviously, even God can’t move Poilièvre off his very risky vaccines and trucker positions. Too bad for him. But hopefully he’ll be more reasonable on assault-style weapons…
Guess you missed all those Liberal attack ads already in the can….they will make mincemeat of PP….
Attracting prior non voters?…..I think you can thank Patrick Brown for that…..oh, wait a second…..
Pierre will continue to be ballot box poison outside his base….FYI, those guys flying flags on their trucks, including F Trudeau ones, they’re not so popular, even in the West….
PP may win the leadership race, but he will lead the Conservative Party to a worse showing than Mr. O’Toole.
Considering the Liberals and their collaborators in the regime media have already called Poilievre every name in the book, people are desensitized and the attacks generate little more than an eyeroll except among all the elderly TruAnons. What are you shrieking leftists going to do? Call him a white supremacist for the 859th time and call his working class supporters hicks? Yeah that’ll work. 860th time is the charm. Didn’t you all say Conservative support for the freedom patriots was going to collapse their polling numbers? Oops.
Preaching to the choir in a leadership race is not the same as facing the Canadian electorate in Federal general election. Ive never called him a white supremacist, ever….what I have called the man is unelectable. He will not fly in the urban areas of this country,…Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, where we need to win. Again, the result?…..another Liberal majority……and four more years of the party warming the benches in Opposition….that’s ok, just more time for the Conservative Party brass fat cats at HQ to secure their private little fiefdoms….
Did you sleep walk in the last campaign? If PP continues as is, the polls will collapse in the middle to end phase of the election, just like they did for idiot O’Toole. Clue in for Christ’s sake. Even Poilièvre has enough savvy to know that the projected collapse happens during the campaign, not before…WHY? because no one is paying fucking attention in the months prior to the election. Strong opposition to a party leader almost always solidifies after the writ is dropped, especially when the serial Trudeau Liberal lies will be on every screen and audio outlet. Hello!
(If PP agrees with your comment, then we’re already well on our way to political disaster.)
Liberals down to TorVan multikultis and Maritimes gimmee-gimmees.
The Few Democrats, as always, limited to urban hippies and the boonies.
Tories actually getting plaudits for dealing decisively with baggage-laden trainwreck Brown the way they want Truddoo to get his.
PP has sufficient royal jelly & the recent voting intention mini-surge hints at a major realignment.
Bring it.
I think it’s a mistake to underestimate Pierre. Not only is he intelligent and articulate, but he can connect with ordinary voters and he’s good with social media. Many Canadians are tired of the PM, so the Conservatives have a chance.

I wonder if JT will find a reason to abandon his pact with Singh and call an early election once PP becomes leader?
I would.
Derek,
I think Trudeau almost certainly will but I expect it won’t win him a second majority.
Think Theresa May, who actually lost seats when she went early after pledging not to.
But it worked for John Horgan when he prematurely sunk his deal with the BC Greens. Got him a majority.

Pedant,
If you actually think PJH is a leftist, then you’re in the wrong party. Please go hold hands with Max. Hopefully, PP isn’t THAT stupid.
