—The king is dead
This is huge for me, us. In our little punk rock circle on the Canadian prairies, Marquee Moon was the summit – not punk rock, but with a punk sensibility and lyrical/musical genius. RIP. "Tom Verlaine, Singer and Guitarist of Television, Dead at 73" https://t.co/BQwVWBubSW

Warren,
May he Rest In Peace.
The most painful lesson I learned in almost 62 years is about the absolute and inevitable cruelty of life where those who have been most loved and cherished are systematically removed one after another. It takes literally everything to take these hits in succession and somehow move on, but such is life I suppose.
Marquee Moon crazy good . Sad.
Pete Townsend said this about another record, but the designation “an uncanny masterpiece” fits Marquee Moon to a T. Proud to say I still have my vinyl copy. I would add the 2003 CD version of the album has the full version of the song Marquee Moon (as the original on the record was faded out due to its length). Condolences to Mr Verlaine’s friends and family. Television was a great band, in world full of mediocrities.
I remember back in the 80’s barreling down Saskatchewan back roads in my buddy’s car listening to Television at high amplitudes.
