Every photo I’ve seen of Jack Smith makes him look like he’s in discomfort from holding his number two in. In short, with a look like that, I wouldn’t want to get on his bad side. But I digress.
This indictment is weak and reaching. Six counts and Trump will likely get off on almost all of them. But not so for January 6th: I expect Smith to nail his hide to the wall in that case.

Nice one. My previous view was based solely on a double standard: how HRC was treated by the Trump Justice Department despite the wishes of the then president and how Trump is being treated now. But I had yet to read the +40 page indictment.
And then there’s the Hunter Biden thing that is being quite deliberately stalled for political purposes. No question about that.
And before that, Lynch and Comey both were against prosecution under Obama.
Well, it would have been nice if I had waited until I had the chance to thoroughly read the indictment. It’s far more comprehensive than I was expecting. Most legal observers are saying that the indictment is basically bulletproof. Ty Cobb said on CNN that Trump is “dead”, legally speaking. So…I’ll be retracting my previous view. Really, really, really doesn’t look good for Trump.

You think Trump’s going to beat the obstruction charges? On these facts? Would be fascinating to hear your legal theory for the defence on that.

Somehow, I was quick enough to extract myself from deer in the headlight territory. Apparently, being circumspect is not my long suit. Oh well. Who knew?
That said, all Trump needs is one MAGA juror. The prosecution in the OJ Simpson case had a very strong case and look what happened there.
Pence and others have thrown their hats in the ring.
Why?
Because their sense is that Trump won’t be a factor once the primaries commence.
As an aside, watch out for Robert F Kennedy, Jr.
He’s got momentum.
Agree on RFK Jr. Especially if T is out.

Yup, I’m sticking with my prediction that neither Biden nor Trump will be their party’s nominee come 2024.

Post Trump, I’ve given up on my conviction of absolute certainty. I expect RFK Jr. to be a spoiler but who knows.
