If Trudeau was a friend, this is what I’d tell him.

A thread.

All true and all good points. He should take that advice and I am not saying that in any sort of mean spirited way. He brought his son on his trip overseas. When I saw them getting on the plane, I was thinking maybe his son might be one of the few confidants he has left that he can totally trust.

I would tell Monsieur Trudeau that he is a person.

    Politician is his job.

So no matter what happens in politics, whether he wins or loses, he remains a person first and foremost, and like all persons living and breathing he is lovingly created in God’s image.

  3. Warren,

And exactly whose fault is that, I wonder? The arrogance of some people. What goes around inevitably comes around. I happen to know a little bit about that myself. But I’m far wiser now.

I think he’ll feel better after resigning and kicking off the Leadership race. That will be a positive moment for him, his family, Canada, the Liberal Party, for everyone. The pressure will be off. He can enjoy a bright future with his kids etc…

Loaning his famous name for a few months in 2015 was helpful in bringing the Liberals out of third place. That’s a happy historical footnote. The Liberal brand has a brighter future because of that.

But he and his staff need to put away any notion that his disastrous leadership can be repaired. Every day this continues is just making things worse. They need to focus on limiting / ending the damage.

The repairing will be done by the next Leader and their staff. It is really important to not make that job impossible. Resigning now is the first step.

I’d tell him: hold onto the gig as long as you can. You’ll never ever have it this good, ever again.

    So long,
    Farewell,
It’s been so good to know you,
Adieu, Adieu, to yieu (Telford ) and yieu (Butts)
    And yieuOOO (Trudeau) !

Generous thanks to Rogers and Hammerstein.

Note to self-if I want to maintain my somewhat sympathetic view towards JT on this issue, don’t watch him and his silly defenders on the mother network. Case in point was Amanda Alvaro trying to put lipstick on the cabinet shuffle pig on P and P yesterday and describing Mary Ng as one of the strong performers. If she is actually thinking about the future of the Liberal party and/or considers Justin a friend, she would be providing much different commentary.

    • Martin,

Look up AA in the dictionary and you’ll find this: Welcome to contract heaven!…and a really, really, really, and I mean REALLY, good friend of MN. How typically Trudeau Liberal.

      • Martin Dixon says:

Ronald, she was on yet again after not being on much, if at all, lately. CBC types have decided that the fact she was in the middle of yet another ethics scandal a nothingburger or maybe they are just having trouble finding silly cheerleaders/groupies to come on and defend the government?

Please don’t give him any ideas. The rot and corruption that is rife within the LPOC will only be expunged with their utter and complete defeat at the polls in 2025. We need the Dauphin at the head of the LPOC in order for the electorate to make that happen. A new leader will simply allow the Canadian abscess to continue to fester. Yer welcome.

I’d remind him that he’s a fighter, and that if he is to lose, better to go down swinging.

    • Sean says:

      Not a fighter.

I’ve never seen anyone in my life less of a fighter than Justin Trudeau and I’ve met some real cowards over the years. None of them will ever touch the truly staggering level of his craven spinelessness.

The first thing he looks for in any fight is a white flag big enough worth waiving. He’s so good at surrendering, he even surrenders / apologizes on behalf of dead people for their historical misdeeds. If you want someone to apologize for all the stupid shit you did in your life, you can’t beat getting Justin Trudeau to do it for you.

He gave up on electoral reform, balanced budgets, housing, military, health care, Indigenous issues, ethics, refugees, feminism… he won’t fight for legislated abortion rights because then it would be eliminated as a wedge issue…. the list is seemingly endless. Indeed there may be no issue under the sun for which he would not offer a hearty surrender.

The only thing he seems to want to fight over is continuing on as a cult leader of a former political party.
