Singh and the NDP looked irresponsible by allowing Palestinians to protest at their convention. That came across as incredibly inappropriate given the slaughter of Israelis and others by the Hamas terrorists.

Yup, our hate laws need to be strengthened. Hate speech is not a democratic right. Hopefully, this or the next government will make meaningful progress on this issue.

This world has once again changed for good. Security needs to be a paramount concern going forward in all countries. That’s the new reality in every western country.
The Axis of Weasels is irrelevant now. The NDP has burned all its bridges, with most potential voters, thanks to that protest at their convention.
The notwithstanding clause was the necessary poison pill Trudeau had to swallow to get the Charter. So, no one can stop it now, whether we happen to like its application or not.
The old man Trudeau has put us on the road to ruin, with a balkanized Canada of powerful provincial fiefdoms. We get what we deserve in this country. A constitutional dud for all to see.

The system is set up for two powerful Provincial fiefdoms, Ontario and Quebec and three with outsized influence for their population base: Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and PEI.
The rest are hewers of wood and drawers of water, exporting all their top notch human resources, bountiful natural resources and political capital eastward.
If our Confederation falls apart it won’t be from use of the NWC, it will be from a refusal to bring the Constitution into the 21st century that reflects population shifts westward and brings all the Provinces together as equals in a democratically elected Senate.

Most people in all societies are fundamentally decent. So, worldwide jihad is a non-starter. However terrorist actions can only intensify, to some degree, during this war.

Silly groupie Iqra Khalid, when she was not making a fool out of herself on X about Gaza, moved to shut down a hearing when the questions were starting to get inconvenient and the NDP went along with it.
