—In yesterday walks tomorrow
June 2024: Toronto District School Board votes to eliminate the Jewish state from its curriculum and silence any discussion of the Jewish state.
April 1933: Germany suspends “Jewish activity” in its schools.
Time to get involved, Premier Ford and Education Minister Todd Smith.
Time to wake up, people who thought the bad stuff was going to go away.
It won’t. It hasn’t.
Warren,
They must be morons. After all, there is not even any pretense of binational accountability. If you’re going to “eliminate” Israel from your curriculum, then fairness dictates that you also “eliminate” Palestine. I guess that just happens to have escaped those hypocritical dullards.
But… they didn’t.
What we have here is one hell of a straw man campaign, one worthy of Pierre Poilievre’s war room.
Antisemitism was clearly called out as a priority in motions by the TDSB in 2020 and 2023. This motion does nothing to change those elements (which include compulsory Holocaust education).
The claim that the June 20th motion, by virtue of focusing only on anti-Palestinian hate, overrides those previous motions, or encourages violence against anyone who, for example, wore a Star of David to school, is an absolute farce.
“A priority in motions.” Right.
APR was a massive curriculum change.
Don’t spread bullshit here.
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein TDSB
Well now that the SCC has confirmed that school boards are subject to the Charter, this seems ripe for a lawsuit.
Gord,
This only adds an even more significant element as to why Ford and the other premiers should act in their respective jurisdictions. Aren’t school boards basically in law creatures of the province? If so, will the province be at least a co-defendant in any legal actions filed?
