Tasha is not right when she says the Liberals are not bringing up the fact they dropped the retirement age back down to 65 from 67. They are in QP. This whole thing is sickening to me. No heroes. The Liberals could go down on one of the few things they got right although the defense Tasha refers to reminds us how they don’t have a clue when it comes to this issue in the first place. Pre 2015 Morneau had it right and then he drank the kool-aid. No longer a serious person. Shame actually. The whole discussion should end when people are reminded that this change will mean even more couples who make more than 350k a year will get to keep some of their OAS that they can use to pay their landscapers and gardeners at their homes in Rosedale and Muskoka. Read that again slowly. They can make even more than that with help from people like me. I think Pierre understands that but based on some conversations I have had, pretty well no one else does including the finance shadow minister. There are even a few baby boomer conservatives defending this because they think they are “entitled” to it because they have “paid into it” for decades. Not true for starters. I have ZERO problem with helping seniors who need it. Proper OAS reforms that will reduce the payments to those that don’t will pay for that EASILY. If this somehow goes through, Pierre should fix it as job one.
