Your hippy generation destroyed Canada because they didn’t have to work for anything in life. The generation before you went through WW2 and a Great Depression. They worked hard to create wealth. Then they gave birth to the hippies who inherited all their wealth. The hippies never faced difficulty. They partied during the hippy area and spent like drunken sailors when they ran government.

Now this country is deeply in debt. Unchecked immigration has destroyed housing and healthcare. Natural resources are locked in environmental red tape and indigineous land agreements. Canada doesn’t have a military or any economic strength. The courts are filled with far-left bench activists, and the Senate is filled with Liberal idiots. Shame on all of you.

Even on the eve of capitulation to the US, your generation remains delusional. The Liberals have recently cancelled important projects like the Kitimat Oil Refinery by forcing them to go through new environmental processes that they can’t afford. They talk about standing up to the US, but it is just empty words and slogans. Booing the US national anthem won’t save Canada, you imbecilic clowns.

It’s time to move forward with a strong North American economy. A Roman Empire on steroids. Prosperity and wealth will reach the most haggard beggar sleeping on the dirty crime-infested streets of Vancouver. A renewed hope of opportunity that will sweep over the nation faster than a tsunami. Those who turned to drugs will turn to hope. Income taxes will drop faster than Trudeau’s popularity. Our new dollar will blaze forward in new powerful strength as the cost of living improves. We will be the strongest nation on earth. China and Russia will bow in humility as they stand in awe of our great empire. We will posses every natural resource the world needs. We will control the trade routes like the Panama Canal and the Northwest Passage. We will have a military more powerful than any other military in history. Now is our time. Let’s seize it.

    What’s your timeline on this?

  3. Warren,

“Not suck up, but stand up!” Typical Chrétien. Too bad the rest of our leaders aren’t as wise and experienced.

  4. Warren,

Like always, the former prime minister is still on top of his files. You’d never know he’s in his 90s.

  5. Warren,

I come down in the middle on Canada is broken: I don’t think Canada is broken but there’s no denying that it’s somewhat dysfunctional, to say the very least.

    • Martin Dixon says:

You can also say that Canada is still the greatest country in the world while at the same time say the stewardship of same has been suboptimal.

  6. Warren,

He smiled during the speech and has done so at political events before.

    • Martin Dixon says:

I too have seen him smile at lots of rallies and speeches but he has likely been told by so many handlers and pundits to smile more that he looked forced to me yesterday.

  7. Warren,

Well, if NATO is dead then war with Putin is inevitable. Check out Russian mobilization of troops on the Polish and Lithuanian borders. Just like before with Ukraine.

    • Doug says:

If one of Trump’s motivations to annex Canada and Greenland is Arctic sovereignty, maintaining NATO and providing more aid to Ukraine should be a no brainer. If Putin fails in Ukraine, his strong man aura disappears and some thug offs him, setting Russia up for at least a decade of chaos. By that time, its demographics will have neutered the threat.

  8. Warren,

How can Canadians say in a poll that Carney is the best guy to lead the country against Trump if supposedly NO ONE really knows who Carney is? Non sequitur.

    • Martin Dixon says:

Theses are the same folks that voted in a name. Not a surprise.

    • Curious+V says:

They saw Carney steer Canada, at Harpers side, through the collapse in 08. They’ve heard that he also ran the show in the UK, and Canadians were happy with the Liberals performance the last time we negotiated NAFTA, but this time they have an economics wizard leading their team – that’s good for dealing with Trump, that’s good for stick handling our way past interprovincial barriers to free trade within Canada, and also good for us to expand our trading partners beyond the United States.

      • Curious,

If you think out-of-the-box, you may conclude that Trump wants no free trade agreement with Canada or Mexico going forward. We need to prepare ourselves for such an eventuality since Trump is a nutcase.

      • Martin Dixon says:

Again, Liberals touting an ally of a guy they were calling a fascist 10 minutes ago is so cute! You folks will twist yourselves into pretzels to justify your vote. It is hilarious.

  9. Warren,

Let’s be totally honest: Pierre is only moving, to the extent that he has moved at all against Trump because you, I and the rest of the commenters on this website have been kicking the shit out of him to do and say more. Without all of us, he would still be rambling on about a carbon tax election. In short, if he listens to US, he can still win. If not, he’s already lost the next election to an elitist’s elitist. End of story.

  10. Martin+Dixon says:

Music great as usual. The guy who wrote most of that New Pornographers album now performs as Destroyer. And he is really good.

Art Carney is now claiming he was offered the job of finance minister by the Liberals’ current go to guy, Harper(hilarious). That should be easy enough to verify.

Oh and my nerd activity in high school was being a member of the chess club.

    • Pedant says:

I’m presuming that Carney isn’t stupid enough to just make up that claim about Harper offering him the finance minister job. There was surely a misunderstanding or he’s misremembering. Unless Harper comes out and says bluntly and categorically that he never made any such offer, I don’t think much will come of it.

      • Martin Dixon says:

These are the same folks that claimed with a Justin PINNED video that the capital gains changes only impacted .13 per cent of the population. Strange that they are running away from that lie. I would like to see a transcript.

      • Pedant,

We’re talking LIBERALS here. You’re far too generous in your assumptions. Harper will have no choice but to speak publicly about this.
