  1. Warren,

I hope you will join many of our fellow Canadians in urging people to sign change.org’s petition to revoke Musk’s Canadian citizenship. Thank you.

  2. Warren,

    Vichy Canadians with a billboard.

  3. Brian,

He’s not right on firing their CJCS and other generals and admirals. It’s outright discrimination.

  4. Warren,

Once again, Dhalla is a symptom of how Liberals traditionally treat strong and opinionated women: you know, JWR, JP, CF and now RD. They would rather disappear as a party than have a female leader.

    • Gary says:

They had an accused groper and rumored sexual predator as leader for 12 years. Liberals are the Andrew Tate party and I don’t understand how anyone could disagree.

  5. Warren,

NATO is incapacitated. It will revive when war once again inevitably comes to Europe in the short term. And that war will be far more Trump’s fault than the tyrant Putin’s.

  6. Warren,

Leaderless Liberals now ahead in Atlantic Canada.

The fact that the NDP voters are flocking to the guy that has the maximum financial backing of bankers from New York and London is hilarious. If Carney is successful, the wealth shift will likely accelerate. Great for me personally but for your typical NDP supporter, not so much. Darwinism at its finest.

    • Martin Dixon says:

This is so ridiculous, I wonder if it is fake news.

Ok, so I checked the elections Canada site and, indeed, many Irvings, Bronfmans and Desmarais have contributed the maximum 1750 to Art. Plus Brent Belzberg and a bunch of McCains. Rough total net worth of those families would be in excess of 60 billion. It’s so cute that the Tru-anons are trying to say that Pierre is the candidate of the rich. But these insulated people in Rosedale do not have enough self-awareness to realize that anyone in flyover country with an actual functioning brain would be wondering why Art is being supported by these folks. They would have been smarter NOT to donate. 348 people have given the maximum so far, by the by. 609000.00.

Agree with Brian from start to finish especially about the getting cranked up part. Not productive. Latest is that you are basically a traitor if you don’t cancel 99.

Music was great. Methadones were channelling The Doughboys.

I don’t think these upcoming Liberal debates will prepare Carney for dealing with Pierre face to face. These were going to be minor league in any event and they got rid of the two people that would not have pulled their punches like his remaining competition will if they want a future in the party. The only experience Carney has likely had with debates would be light dinner conversation over tea and crumpets at Annabel’s in London.

Carney is a target rich environment and, unless I miss my guess, Pierre can’t wait to go toe to toe with him and at the same time unleash some of that 42 million they raised in 2024 to run ads that literally write themselves.

I’ve been reading Heather Cox Richardson – very good coverage of the unfolding events in the United States, and around the world. From what I’m reading, Trump is losing support. She does a great job of putting this all in historical context – I recommend.

As far as my take on Trump, well, it’s worse than I expected, and that really hit home with his treatment of Ukraine – what an absolute disgrace.

  10. Warren,

French debate: the Liberals must be desperate when they have to resort to stealing from yours truly. Council of the Federation: proposed that it meet regularly with Harper back in the day; 100% retaliatory tariffs, proposed it on this website.

  11. Warren,

Turner was rusty. Carney is rusted through and through en français. He badly needs the Tin Man’s oil can…

Gould won but she wants to go centre-left when a country wants to go centre-right.

  12. Warren,

Congrats to the two award winners.

  13. Gilbert says:

I take back what I said about Mark Carney’s French. It isn’t very good.

    • Martin Dixon says:

I can’t speak or understand much French. But I am French Canadian. French was my mom’s primary language and I have three bilingual siblings. So I was exposed to it a lot. Even someone like me knew it was silly to claim Art was proficient at French.

      • Martin,

But it won’t make a bit of difference: every progressive and his dog is now lining up behind Carney. So we will be stuck with him as PM and maybe as an indirectly elected prime minister. The whole thing is an unmitigated joke. They should be out on their ass in the next election but apparently not…

    • Warren,

The arrogance of leadership candidates generally: they plan for quite literally decades to run for party leadership and then they leave their French to two weeks before they declare as a candidate. Happens in every fucking party and to quote Curious, it sure is a disgrace. At least Pierre and Harper went out of their way to perfect their French. Good on them.

  14. Warren,

It seems that Nero did not fiddle while Edmonton burned. Not a good look, not at all. Can the inquiry really be trusted or will it be a staged setup? Tick, tock, tick, tock!

  15. Warren,

    From: The Canadian Press.

“Poll shows Freeland a close second on first ballot in Liberal leadership race.”

“The poll suggests 43 per cent of Liberal supporters would vote for Carney on the first ballot, while 31 per cent would choose Freeland.

Former House leader Karina Gould has the support of 16 per cent of Liberals, while three per cent prefer Montreal businessman Frank Baylis. Seven per cent remain undecided.”

Don’t believe it for a second. Carney will win on the first ballot.
