Warren loves democracy
I love seeing photos of candidates, of every political stripe, smiling as they canvass and go door-to-door. It’s the purest form of democracy, and I’m a sucker for that. Thanks to every one of them.

And I’ll add if you are receiving a door knock / phone call from a candidate or a volunteer….
Be nice to them. Thank them even.
No matter what party they are supporting – they are performing a valuable public service and our democracy is better for it.

Too many people mistake having elections with being a democracy. Elections are not a democratic process. Elections are governance processes or tools of delegation. Like all tools, elections can be misused. Politics manipulates elections to control governments. That is why Canada is not really a democracy. Real democracy is government that serves, supports & protects its people. Elections in a real democracy is how oversight of government to ensure it serves, supports & protects its people is delegated. Real democracy needs good governance, not politics. Good governance, and democracy, are about servantship instead of leadership.
