The usual suspects are pulling out an old Pierre P quote that we are all familiar with from 17 years ago. Interesting article on the CBC website from yesterday which provided some fodder to respond to said suspects. Post in response to one of those suspect’s on one of my brothers’ Faceplace page:
“Pierre did apologize and paid a heavy political price at the time and learned a valuable lesson. Folks gave Justin all kinds of passes for all kinds of horrible things and blamed his youth even though in some cases he was older than Pierre at the time. And there is a small inconvenient counterpoint. Mark Carney’s dad was the principal at a school literally named in the class action settlement and is quoted as referring to their students(and Negros) as culturally retarded(in 1965). School below:

The father of Sean and myself was an educator at about the level of Mark’s dad in 1965 and would never have used that term(I would have remembered) because, well, he wasn’t a racist. Mark’s dad’s mileage clearly varied!”
