Language and content should be dealt with by the authorities – the lunatics are trying to destabilize our democracy
It’s called freedom of speech, thought and opinion. You don’t have the authorities involved unless they plan on disrupting the election or blocking people from voting. Get real.
My default position on any election in any country is no unless legitimate proof suggests otherwise. If I recall correctly, Trump beat Harris by two percent of the popular vote. Could there be election irregularities with vote counting? Maybe, but where’s the proof?
Isn’t it reasonable that authorities, maybe CSIS, keep tabs on the folks planting this kind of shit in people’s heads, people who are susceptible to brainwashing and conspiracy theory –
Having an unpopular or frankly false political opinion doesn’t make one the target of the state. Besides, you think that CSIS has the time and resources to chase every single silly person on Facebook?
What about the Ontario Lieberals who thought Doug Ford cheated?
CSIS is mandated as a counter-intelligence agency. The ordinary Joe and Jane don’t make the list unless they are undermining the government or trying to overthrow it.
Huh? Of course that would be your take. Who gets to define it? As I keep saying, everything has flipped. Free speech actually used to be near and dear to the left. They hated big pharma, didn’t trust billionaires(Carney’s BFFs), were in favour of autonomy over your body, anti-war, etc. etc.
I sure have lots of questions about how Carney won the leadership. Will I be allowed to say that in your dystopian Orwellian world?
Today I went to vote at the Elections Canada office in Orleans, Ontario. I was told that they had no ballots yet, and I should fill out a blank ballot and write in the candidate’s name that I wanted to vote for. I found this to be quite sketchy, so I left. Is this even legal?
Perfectly legal. My Mom and I did it in several elections when she was still with us. One of my brothers did it this week in Louis-Hébert. (He and I don’t vote the same way.)
We now know that Beijing is manipulating social and ethnic media in favour of Carney. So while it might not determine the overall outcome of the election, for the third election in a row the Liberals will steal around 10 seats in BC and Ontario from the Conservatives thanks to China’s help.
Yes because Chinese Canadians have no minds of their own and can’t read Chinese language media without following orders robotically. /s
Curious V: Ronald is right, you can’t charge people with expressing an opinion no matter how loony it is as long as it isn’t calling for violence. The fact these whackos are starting to cling to such a Trumpy playbook shows how desperate and pathetic they are.
Erin O’Toole stated that Chinese interference cost the Conservatives 9 seats in 2021. I trust his judgment over Beijing’s operatives in the Liberal Party. I wonder what you’d say if China were rigging the vote in almost a dozen ridings on behalf of the Conservatives?
I’m surprised a Tru-Anon has had a sudden conversion to freedom of speech. The Liberals wanted to implement to an online Stasi to trawl the internet rooting out and prosecuting problematic (in their view) opinions.
One junior staffer in Guelph and zero evidence that any riding results were impacted vs. coordinated Beijing government espionage campaign on behalf of the Liberal Party with plenty of evidence for nearly a dozen ridings impacted (i.e. stolen from the Conservatives).
I was then in Louis-Hébert and got a robocall supposedly from the Liberals telling me to go vote at the advanced polls and the general at two addresses that were incorrect. Can’t pin that donkey on any party. Unfortunately.
The Chinese police stations in the consulates in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal use intimidation and they’re good at it. That’s why people fear violence, abduction or worse.
Maybe Pierre is going to lose but he sure seems to be having a good time doing it. I don’t know what the guy yelled out from the crowd but he sure thought it was funny. 45:30 in:

Martin,
Me too.

Do you think robocalls were ever used by the CPC to try to steal the election ? Is Pierre Poutine still at large?
