Because they do.  Just this week, in fact.

Here’s an extract from the latest issue of Your Ward News, distributed this week by Canada Post to tens of thousands of homes in East Toronto and beyond:

That is, prima facie, Holocaust denial. That is a criminal offence. Canada has prosecuted such cases in the past, as is well known. Why the Hell is the Trudeau government permitting Canada Post to distribute Holocaust denial?

And that’s not all.  Here’s something from the same issue, in which its editor, James Sears – who has pleaded guilty to sexual assault, and lost his licence to practice medicine for sexually assaulting patients – promotes his association with something called the Canadian Association for Free Expression (CAFE).

CAFE is an organization founded and led by Paul Fromm.  Here’s the Southern Poverty Law Centre on both: “Paul Fromm is a Canadian neo-Nazi based in the Toronto area. He serves as the international director for the white supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC), a direct descendent of the White Citizens Councils that rabidly opposed school desegregation in the 1950s and 1960s. He formerly hosted a daily radio show on Don Black’s racist web forum, Stormfront. Fromm also lectures frequently in both the United States and Canada and has appeared at annual conferences hosted by the CCC and the white nationalist American Renaissance…

Fromm has founded several organizations, including Citizens for Foreign Aid Reform (C-FAR) in 1976 to oppose multiculturalism and aid to Third World countries. In 1981, he founded the Canadian Association for Free Expression (CAFE ), which works against the Canadian Human Rights Commission to defend anti-Semites, racists and Holocaust deniers from persecution under hate crime and human rights legislation. These two organizations serve as Fromm’s primary platforms.”

Holocaust denial and aggressive promotion of white supremacy and neo-Naziism, right here in Toronto.

Where is the Toronto Police Service on this? Where are our local MPs and MPPs and councillors? Where is the Crown? Where is the Trudeau government? Where is Toronto’s mayor? Where is the outrage?

Well, as I told my friend Bernie Farber over the holidays, me and mine are outraged. And if the powerful people referred to above don’t start taking concrete action, now, they are going to be named and shamed.

And not just by me.

Per the below posts about my pal Laura Miller, here and here, looky here! The OPP – into whose conduct a misconduct hearing has been ordered for possible perjury in testimony given about Laura – have a history.

One of Laura’s inquisitors, for example, is OPP Detective Brian Mason. And Mason is the same guy who made all kinds of wild allegations about another political person, former Ottawa Mayor Larry O’Brien.

Remember all that? And O’Brien – after a huge personal expense, and after having to step down temporarily, and after the OPP put him and his family through the frigging grinder – was acquitted. Exonerated. Remember that well, Ontario PCs now stupidly cheering on Mason et al.

The officers of the OPP: they never get their man (or woman). But they’ll sure as Hell try and bankrupt you along the way.

A talented Globe reporter contacted me about my friend Laura Miller.

He asked why I was supporting her. Here’s what I said:

“Why am I supporting her? Four reasons.

One, she’s a friend, and I know her very well. As such, I know that she is a fundamentally decent and honest person, and wholly undeserving of this baseless attack.

Two, political people – of all stripes – too often are held to a different standard. They are too often seen as guilty until proven innocent. It’s noteworthy that political people, of all stripes, are now coming forward publicly as friends and supporters of Laura.

Three, these charges only happened after Laura successfully won an important legal battle against the OPP. They are an out of control, highly politicized police force that decided to pay her back. It is disgusting. It is like something you would see in Putin’s Russia.

Four, no bloody emails were deleted. They can’t be. They are all still on the Ontario government servers in Guelph. The entire basis of the prosecution is predicated on a lie.

Strong words, but I feel strongly about this one. Hope it helps.”

Listening to the CBC news on the way in with Son Three this morning – and with the world seeming palpably (more) dangerous, here and here and here – we switched to Sirius XM and this came on.

Told my son to listen to the words. Still a tonic for the times.

I’ve had an account since the dawn of time.  A few days ago, with zero warning, years of accumulated emails to my Hotmail account simply disappeared.  And new ones aren’t sticking around much beyond a few days, either.

Anyone know what gives? (And, no, telling me to switch everything over to Gmail isn’t particularly helpful.)

As some of you will recall, Andre Marin and his crew in the Office of the Ontario Ombudsman – which still blocks me, an Ontario taxpayer, from access – made a complaint about me late last year to the Law Society of Upper Canada.

I didn’t ever write about the antics of Marin and his devotees – here and here and here – as a lawyer or a legal expert. I was writing as a citizen. The Marin crew know that, of course. But their objective is to shut me up – using taxpayer-funded resources, too.

Marin et al. were given months to assemble their complaint; I was given just days to respond. Despite that, I put together a 40-page response to their complaint over the holidays. In it, I’ve requested a full public hearing, to which the media and the public would be invited. Several free speech organizations have expressed interest in attending, as well.

This fight is going to be long and expensive. If you can help out in any way, please use the donate button to the left.

In the meantime, below is one of the things I had to say to the Law Society. I’d be interested in your thoughts. (But keep it civil – remember, Andre Marin and his crew are watching.)

Quote from letter to LSUC: “I sometimes receive criticisms about things I have written, or which others have written, on my web site. I review each complaint carefully, and take action. In this case, I never received a complaint – not one – from Mr. Marin or any other person about my web site. Instead, I only received a copy of Mr. Marin’s May 8, 2015 email to all of his staff from an anonymous member of that same staff. In it, he dismisses me and he goes on to actually encourage the staff at the Office of the Ombudsman to “feel free” to use a search engine to read all of the comments I and others had made. I fail to understand how the Office of the Ombudsman can now claim I have hurt the legal profession and the administration of justice when Mr. Marin himself was actively encouraging all of his staff to “feel free” to read what I and others had written. Either they objected to my web site, or they did not. But they cannot encourage their staff to “feel free” to read it on May 8 and then – just three days later – make a complaint about it to the Law Society of Upper Canada. That makes no sense.”

Laura is a great friend of ours, and is fighting back against an outrageous and disgusting campaign against her being waged by the OPP – the Ontario Political Police.
