Oliver’s might be better known for inexpensive draft, air hockey and its Thursday-night DJ party, but Brousseau isn’t the first politico to put in time there. Gordon Brown, BAHons/83, is the Conservative MP for Leeds-Grenville. He never worked the bar, but he did share more than a few pints with his buddies Warren Kinsella, BJ/84; Jim Watson, BA/83; Bob Richardson, BAHons/85; and James Villeneuve, BA/85.

For the record, Gordie, Jim, James, Bob and I never drank at Oliver’s.  We in fact never drank.  All we did was study, and devote ourselves to charitable efforts.

It’s in their platform.  And I can tell you – I promise – this PC policy will end up doing them more damage that the funding of private religious schools.  It’s their policy Vietnam.

In 2007, Robert Rawza ran from the shelter and was on the lam for about a week. He was sentenced to serve 18 months to six years in prison on a charge of escaping jail. He had been in jail for violating parole by not registering as a sex offender. As a sex offender, officials said he shouldn’t have been in a work detail, which are for nonviolent criminals.

Donnellon said there always is a risk in using inmates for free labor for the different county entities and municipalities.

In plenty of pain (it’s a long story), we made our way to the ‘Shoe tonight, whereupon I – after twenty-plus long years – was finally able to see Urge Overkill.  Why weren’t they stars?  What happened to Blackie? Is Cam Carpenter known to every band in the universe?

…this one from OPSEU. Federally, we’re hearing more of the same is on the way there, too.

What does it all mean, beside the obvious political messaging?  It means lots of unions, associations and folks are feeling that traditional media, and traditional means, are failing them.  Interesting.
