Go play with yourself, Rush

Obama delivers a brilliant rejoinder to the far-right drug addict.

In my experience, the universe can be neatly divided into sane people who love Obama, and red-necked, mouth-breathing nutjobs who think the scumbag racist drug addict is the Messiah.

I stand with the sane people, personally.  Anyone else?

    I agree.

Didn’t Obama do coke? In my universe he’s no better than Rush.

On this one, my tiny black conservative heart stands with Obama.

Barb – huge, huge difference. Obama admitted his use of drugs, explained why and was upfront about it.

Limbaugh berated people who did drugs all the while hooked on them himself. He didn’t admit it, he got caught.

If you can’t see the difference, something’s wrong.

So, we either love Obama, or we love Limbaugh? I’d agree with the “narrow view of the world” comment posted earlier. I think there are a lot of people, in both Canada and the U.S., who despise Rush Limbaugh but do not “love” Obama. Like, perhaps – maybe even voted for him. But he is certainly not the greatest-thing-since-sliced-bread he was made out to be before the election.

Obama is a terrific speaker, and a decent enough POTUS, but when you listen to him for awhile, you realize that he – like many leaders – says a lot without saying much of anything. It’s easy to make inspiring speeches (or idiotic inflammatory ones, like Limbaugh), but it’s a lot harder to actually DO stuff. Obama was brought down to earth when he actually had to start putting his lofty words into tangible plans.

as much fun as rejoicing in the one-liner is, I think the fact that this merits media attention and that the president would even have to/be asked to respond to such a thing shows just how badly the American system is broken.

The attention the left heaps on the likes of Rush, Coulter and O’Reilly is embarassing. They’re glorified internet trolls who say outlandish things for attention and their opponents take the bait every single time. The result is more publicity, leading to more, attention, veiwers, book sales etc. etc.

I can all but guarantee a great number of their viewers/listeners are people who do so just so they can have something to be outraged about. Why do that to yourselves? The worst thing you could do to them is ignore them.

A pox on both their houses.

  11. Limbaugh is a ZERO MAN. He is an loudmouth ignoramus of a Showman. He is very rich but he does not impress me. Most Repubs and Reformers think he is great and are scared of him.

    I still like Obama.

Because Obama accomplished the seemingly impossible- a person of colour becoming President of the racist United States of America – when he proved to not be able to also leap over tall buildings and catch bullets with his teeth, everyone was disappointed and started to trash him. There was NO WAY any President could have lived up to that kind of hype, given the paradigm in which he has to work. So people that supported him because he represented so much hope feel let down and people that didn’t support him now have ammunition to use against him.

We love to build people up beyond any reasonable expectation and then jump on them when they are unable to live up to those unreasonable expectations. Sort of like when Tom Cruise jumped on the couch!
