For the sake of the Liberal party, I hope Sheila Copps loses. “Storm Trooper”? More like hysterical left-wing protectionist. Certainly not the way to modernize the Liberal Party.
It was nice of you to publicly remove yourself from this thing, Warren. People know which side of the Chretien-Martin divide you are on… but I’m ignorant as to why Crawley is considered a Turner-Martin guy – could you enlighten me?
Whatever happens at the convention, the whole Party needs to get behind the victor. The Party will have decided, and no matter whether you are a Martin or Chretien person, you need to say you are ready to do what it takes to help. Otherwise the LPC is screwed – it has already dealt with internal divisions for a decade, if they continue I might as well just quit voting…
Not long ago, a lot of Liberals (myself included) thought the infighting was actually kind of fun. We thought the Turner / Martin wing VS the Chretien Trudeau wing was a major component of what kept us in power. It looked like we had some debate within the party. After all, unresolved conclusions is one of the most endearing attributes of modern Canadian Liberalism. One of my favourite backroom guys who liked to “hold court” in the hallways of conventions used to say that the Martin / Chretien fights were “the best movie ever written”.

Sigh. Too bad we couldn’t get rid of all Turner-Martin and all Trudeau-Chretien liberals. Then we’d be on to something.
Agreed!

Thanks.
Google him. I did.
Google? Did I read correctly. “The” WK acquires information that requires political synthesizing from Google of all places. That changes everything!
Here here.
So was groundhog day
Oh… oh… can I be the one to say that Star Wars was a movie??? Can I??
Ongoing tribalism within the Liberals is what is killing this party.
That’s why it is so very important for the Liberal Party of Canada to get leadership right. Only those who can unite the various factions need apply.

Isn’t the Martin-Chrétien nightmare a thing of the past?
