  1. And here he is on BBC when he was 13.

    Can’t believe he’s 68.

    • Warren says:

I’m a punk, but always wished I had seen ’em.

      • The Doctor says:

I saw him and Robert Plant together in concert about 10 years ago, I attended with a friend who knew very little about Jimmy Page. My friend was totally blown away, gobsmacked by Page’s guitar playing. The concert was mostly songs from the first 5 LZ albums, and Page did the whole big show on Dazed & Confused with the violin bow, the Whole Lotta Love thing with the Theremin, etc. It was rock & roll heaven.

And in the documentary It Might Get Loud — It was clear who was boss. JP blows the doors off of the Edge and Jack White, though they’re both fine musicians. One’s a god, the other two are mortals.

  2. Marc L says:

Ahhhh!!! NOW you’re talking music Warren.

  3. Brammer says:

Saw dragon tattoo on the wknd. Any movie that opens with the “immigrant song” is oscar-worthy IMHO 🙂

This photo of Jimmy is one my faves, simply because it looks so odd in a poliburo-meets-rock-icon kind of way:

  4. Iris Mclean says:

Jimmy Page sucks. A forty-odd year career and not a single song about Barney Rubble.
    You rawk WK!

  5. Steve T says:

Probably the best rock band ever. Unbelievable talent, from all corners, and an integration of blues and rock that was much better than the Stones ever achieved. Zep appealed to blues fans, rock fans, metal fans, and even (witness WK) punk fans.

  6. Lumipallo says:

Now, before it’s too late, he really should step up and and ask his fans to stop claiming that he played Dave Davies’s guitar solo on You Really Got Me. He’s actually become a pretty fair guitarist in his own right.
