Fr. de Souza’s columns are bad enough, but sitting through one of his homilies without walking out or mouthing off might be enough to qualify one for heaven. My church in K-town varied (or I turned agnostic briefly) depending on whether he was officiating.
If his version of Catholicism is the right one, hell is probably the better option.
There are many good columnists. There are some good conservative columnists. The there are De Souza and Warren.
You’d have to put a gun to my head to get me to read either one.
What’s your beef with Patriquin?

Sorry, Warren. Not you. I was referring to the odious David Warren of the Ottawa Citizen.
Damn, I can be insensitive.
Is this the same Father De Souza who was in Moose Jaw, SK in the 70s?
Dan Shields, Ottawa
No, Raymond is too young – he graduated from Queen’s in the 1990s. Interestingly, he was a Tory hack back then.
