—Planning ahead
We’ve got:
1. One daughter, ranked competitive swimmer
2. One son, GTHL “A” forward
3. One son, GTHL “A” goalie
4. One son, snowboarder, swimmer and lacrosse nut
I’ve decided to quit my job(s) and start driving kids to and from rinks/pools/hills full-time.
Good bye, nice knowing you, etc.
Four kids, fit and learning life lessons. It could be worse.
Enjoy every minute of it. Some of the best conversations happen during those drives. It’s over before you know it.
What Deb L said. From a 76 yr old Grannie.
Ummmm, then how will you pay for it?
As the father of 2 A ranked swimmers (girls) I strogly sympathize. I can’t beleive that $200 racing suits only last 1/2 a season. Pool time in Calgary is super expensive!
Good genes, dont complain
Give ’em a ride or give ’em a car, there are no other options.
Just don’t start voting Conservative…….
Well, if you must make it political…. The Conservatives have given us all $500 per child health & fitness tax credits, which gives Warren $2K to help with all this.
My point exactly, do it because you love it not for $500.
Been there
Done that
Miss it
lol…I never thought you would turn into a soccer mom:)
Dontcher kids use public transit?
Yepper. But rinks in TO not usually anywhere near subway. They’re also young.
Trade you a clean quiet empty boring house for it….
Yeah, two of three in hockey and all three ALSO in skating, I seriously considered just pitching a tent outside the arena..
I know the feeling… hated it and loved it all at the same time.
I’ve often joked that if they built condos over my local hockey rink, I’d be the first to buy one. That being said, I’m amazed at what my kids have learned through sports and how much hockey in particular is where you will find Canada, in all its glory!
