We get letters: more from the Wildrose Bozone Layer

“I am a pastor. And in beliefs homosexual are headed for the lake of fire. Now with that being said we have Muslims in public office right now who believe that anyone who does not believe in ala should be killed but far be it for anyone to mention that. That would be prejudice. And as a Christian I have a right to believe in what I believe and for u to attach someone for their beliefs in my eyes is racist. At least everyone knows up front what he believes. There are to many people in government who hide behind a lie to get in and then do what they believe is write regardless of what the voters believe. My beliefs are my beliefs and I should not be persecuted for that and no one else should either. And because of what you wrote today I have decided to vote for her based on the fact she did not hide behind a lie to please the media. But this is my opinion.”

From “Floyd McK.” Wow.

  1. Corey says:

Interesting. I agree with the idea that a politician should be upfront about their beliefs. And the people have the right to oppose that person’s beliefs and to not vote for them, which I think most people would do in this case.

  2. Barb Miller says:

Gee where is this little Lake of Fire cuz I know a few thousands Tories I’d love to escort there.

  3. Philip Lococo says:

Ok everyone back off each other. Mister Christian. Please study your history to discover that Allah is the same God you pray to. Not even a little bit. Muslims and Christians believe from the same spiritual roots.

Edicts against homosextuality and slavery and preferencially letting your daughters be raped by raging mobs (turns out sometimes it’s ok) are all addressed in the old testiment.

Obviously Gods words visa vi the Bible have been adulterated by men with political objectives over the past 2000 years. Is it such a surprise seeing the crap we’ve been fed by our poloticians over just the last year.

Let peace and understanding riagn. Look past the bs you’ve been fed . That goes for everyone. Wake up the time is now.

  4. George says:

Wow indeed. Floyd McK must have slept through most of pastor school, not to mention whatever other education he might have been unsuccessfully exposed to.

As for having a right to his beliefs, yes indeed, he does have that right. I have the right to publicly laugh at those beliefs. I also exercise that right by voting against politicians who think any segment of our society should be discriminated against because their ‘religion’ tells them it is God’s will.

  5. Eric says:

It’s just a typo. He meant to say “Alan”, not “ala”. Personally, I’ve believed in Alan since he magically appeared in my living room in 1984.

  6. MC says:

I think you should make these letters a regular feature, even post-election.

  7. Jon Adams says:

I can’t help but notice Floyd et al’s use of the computer to decry homosexuality, given that we owe much of modern computing to Alan Turing, who was persecuted for his homosexuality.

  8. I hope he speaks better than he writes.

  9. Jim Hayes says:

Is it any wonder the WildRose Party want to get rid of their Human Rights Commission?

  10. Nurie Jahangeer says:

Would you like to share the good Pastor’s email with us, Warren? 🙂

    • Warren says:

      “Floydmck@telusplanet.net”

      • Bmarcille says:

And this will be my farewell, Warren.

I have enjoyed posting the odd comment, but now I see you are willing to post people’s personal email so the ‘haters’ can be turned on them.

By the way, exactly how many Liberals are expected to win a seat in Alberta, this election, even with this incarnation of the ‘Guns in the Streets’ ad campaign?

Good ad by the Liberals, though.

  11. Shaun says:

    I thought you banned Gord?

  12. Steve T says:

Atrocious spelling/grammar and questionable religion aside, Floyd makes a good point (probably accidentally). Too many politicians, and others in the public sphere, blather on in generalities without ever really saying anything of substance. It would be nice if more of them were honest, rather than being chameleons that switch their views to however the wind is blowing at the time.

Floyd also makes a good point about the double standard that exists in terms of what you can say publically. It is unacceptable to criticize some groups, but perfectly fine to lambaste other identifiable groups (Christians; white men; Americans).

  13. smelter rat says:

It’s times like this that I really miss Gord………kidding!

  14. Anne Peterson says:

Do you suppose some religious people have to be so loud and controlling to divert people’s attention from how lacking in compassion they are and how far they have moved away from Christ’s real message. When you start interpreting His message to support your own agenda you are in dangerous waters. Could that make you a false prophet?

Like some Christians, white men and Americans don’t lambaste everyone else? And as far as I can see conservatives have lambasting down to a nasty art.

  15. Tired of it All says:

If you were to light a tailings pond on fire, just north of Ft. McM, would that be sufficient?

In addition to providing a solution to their worries around a certain demographic, it would also provide some tasty roast duck.
