Harper quitting?

Some folks telling me they think it may be announced here. But why there and not on the Hill or at 24?

    Who ever announced at24?

  2. e.a.f. says:

I don’t care where he resigns, as long as that sad sack of shit resigns and leaves this country alone. His press release Friday regarding the progress of the Canada/China free trade agreement has me sick.

If that agreement is finalized and signed, I can only hope Quebec does leave Canada, so I will have a place to live, that isn’t under control of China. Living in B.C. some of us have had enough of the impact of China on our lives.

Just please let him resign, let him leave our country alone. He has done enough damage to our Veterans, our economy, our First Nations women and children, our international reputation, our health care system, our scientists, our churches and environmental groups which he subjects of Revenue Canada audits, our democracy.

Oh, god I think I[‘m going to be sick just thinking about what that man has done to this country. Just let him RESIGN. Let him rot in hell.

    • Matt says:

Oh please, do tell us what great damage Harper has done to our economy.

What damage has been done to our health care? They have increased healthcare transfers to the provinces. If you have a problem with the delivery of heal care services where you live, bitch to your provincial government. It’s their responsibility.

Native women and children? Harper has spent more on natives than any other PM.

But hey, don’t let facts get in the way of an anti Harper rant.

      • Ridiculosity says:

What has Harper done to damage our economy? How about cutting infrastructure investment by 90%, just so he can boast a balanced budget during next year’s federal election? (No jobs = no economy)

What has Harper done to damage healthcare? How about flatly refusing to talk to the provincial premiers about transfers? (0 conversation = 0 progress)

What damage has Harper done to First Nations women and children? How about rebuffing renewed calls for an inquiry into murdered, missing First Nations women? (Out of touch + out to lunch = heartless)

        • Al in Cranbrook says:

          What a load of bullshit!!!

Cut infrastructure spending by 90%? Show me the numbers! This government is spending more on infrastructure than any federal government in history!

Refused to talk to premiers about transfers? He guaranteed them 6% increases per year! Double the rate of inflation! No, Ottawa isn’t a GD money pit, contrary to popular belief amongst the left!

Not another inquiry into First Nations crime and poverty issues? What? 40 of ’em since 1996 isn’t enough already??? Let’s waste umpteen million dollars and another three GD years on yet another commission??? To learn what that we don’t know already???

Man I’m sick of the stupid crap you clowns spread everywhere you go!!!

          • Kaspar Juul says:

“Man I’m sick of the stupid crap you clowns spread everywhere you go!!!”

Never have more true words been said about the views of Al in Cranbrook as well.

          • Ridiculosity says:

Harper thinks you are stupid and from what you just wrote he’s obviously right…

You want to see the numbers that prove he’s made drastic cuts to infrastructure? Here they are:

Harper’s bait-and switch, deceptively written Building Canada Fund will plunge from its existing level of about $1.7-billion per year, down to a meagre $210-million in 2014-15. It will stay at that reduced amount for 2015-16. That’s a cut over the next two years of close to $3-billion. And it’s not projected to get back to its current annual value until after 2019. Long after Harper’s been sent packing.

Wake up and smell the bullshit he’s trying to get you to believe.

          • Al in Cranbrook says:

Kaspar, whatever you do, don’t give up your day job to be a political commentator. And definitely not a comedian!

            You know?

          • Kaspar Juul says:

Oh Al, the irony of your statements is consistently lost upon you.

          • Al in Cranbrook says:

            http://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/plan/nbcp-npcc-eng.html

            Quote:

“The New Building Canada Plan is the largest long-term infrastructure plan in Canadian history, providing stable funding for a 10-year period. It includes:
•The Community Improvement Fund, consisting of the Gas Tax Fund and the incremental Goods and Services Tax Rebate for Municipalities, will provide over $32 billion to municipalities for projects such as roads, public transit and recreational facilities, and other community infrastructure.
•A $14-billion New Building Canada Fund, which consists of the: ◦$4-billion National Infrastructure Component (NIC) that will support projects of national significance; and
◦$10-billion Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component (PTIC) for projects of national, regional and local significance. Of this amount, $1 billion is dedicated to projects in communities with a population of fewer than 100,000 residents.

            • An additional $1.25 billion in funding for the P3 (Public-Private Partnerships) Canada Fund administered by PPP Canada. For further information, please visit their website.
•$6 billion in funding continues to flow across the country this year and beyond under existing infrastructure programs.”

          • Ridiculosity says:

Al in Cranbrook, you’re citing information from the HARPER’S GOVERNMENT’s website? And you think we’re going to believe the numbers???

Well, I guess if YOU read it; it must be true.

That said, YOU may also want to note the quiet “stable funding for a 10-year period” mention. In English, that means long after Stephen Harper has been sent packing.

But…but…but… I thought that China’s ‘basic dictatorship’ was something to be admired. Shiny Pony said so, so how can anything to do with China be bad?

  3. Jon says:

Well, posting that with nary a link to any analysis is just not fair.

  4. Star sailor says:

Perhaps it is related to the Mike Duffy story. Maybe Harper’s hands were in the cookie jar. Time to head for the exit, fast

    • e.a.f. says:

oh that would just be too entertaining. please let it be true.

why can’t Duffy get his book out before Christmas or that nice domitrix, who said she could make us forget about Duffy. Why can’t she publish her “john” list. I’m sure enquiring Canadians would like to know and it just might spare us having to sign the trade deal with China. Now that is a fun thought! Duffy saves Canada! He spills the goods on harper and his herd. harper is gone, the China “deal/giveaway” is gone and Canada is saved. All due to that short fat little mouth piece from PEI you say. What a movie of the week. who would play Duffy?

  5. .. don’t think he will quit today.. but I think its imminent.. and as said several times previously, will be couched in terms of a health related anomaly.. as suggested by his family doctor.. blah blah woof woof and off goes our creepy former PM to London via Washington & Geneva.

Losing to Justin Trudeau is not acceptable.. Mulroney just stuck the long knife into Harper’s forehead.. not from behind.. the ‘talent pool’ is a toxic tailings pond of incompetant political animals.. so nobody to replace Harper.. and its quite likely a secret evangelical could lead a backstabber brigade to oust or out Harper any day now.

Imagine conclusive proof of who/how/why there was election fraud in some 240 federal ridings, or Duffy dumps big time on Nigel, Stevie and Ray Novak… or Pammy Wallin unloads on all those PMO pricks and ‘Cabinet Confidence’ nonsense.. and an anonymous do gooder spills the PMO beans on who accessed or wiped the CIMS logs

    The reality is..
Harper is caught on the bigtop circus tightrope.. wearing a kilt
    and folks… it aint pretty

  6. Bill From Willowdale says:

Met him a couple of times before he was PM. He’s very smart. Smart enough to know when the jig is up.

  7. doconnor says:

That might explain the sudden signing of the China trade pack and desire to speak at the UN.

  8. Joe says:

Maybe he is going to give us a demonstration on rethinking our Space Time Continuum.

  9. Liam Young says:

Harper won’t quit. Never. He’s a power junkie and I’ll repeat: Harper won’t quit – especially when he has minions that want to be close to his power that he can continue to throw under the bus.
Did I say he won’t quit?
Today’s press announcement? Probably to swear off any association with Mike Duffy and a 1000 other victims of his climb to power.
How things will eventually unwind? Someone with a bigger hard on for leadership will ‘out’ Harper and he will then be thrown in jail before giving up the reigns.

    • Tired of it All says:

I’m with you. He’ll either sandbag Duffy, Prorogue again or drop a writ. Folks who speculate he’ll quit aren’t paying attention. Neocons never quit, for any reason. They are ideologues, not principled actors.

Turns out the media was just played like a cheap violin.

  11. WestGuy says:

It’d make sense that if he was going to step down, he’d have his legacy in place. Not any of the trade deals but the discovery of the Franklin ship. Solving a 200 year old mystery while PM is a pretty good historical footnote.

  12. e.a.f. says:

Who cares about a 200 yr old ship. Its not like he found it. Some scientists he doesn’t even like found it.

It would have been nice if harper could have gotten a little more excited about finding out who murdered 1,200 First Nations women in the past 30 or so years because really who cares about a bunch of guys who have been dead for a couple of hundred years. I’m interested in who killed the First Nations women, because a lot of them are still out there walking around and I don’t want them to kill any more of my sisters. Harper just seems more interested in 200 hundred yr old dead white men than he does 1,200 dead F.N. women and those who are alive and yet might be murdered. nice legacy there harper.

The talent pool is a little thin for a harper replacement, but he does seem to have that Bernie guy sitting behind him in parliament today with only one blonde. Don’t know what happened to the other blonde. He used to be framed by two blondes in the House, who sat behind him. Now he has this Bernie guy, a blue turban, and a blonde. What do the spin doctors say about that?

lol…still trying to push your insider knowledge? oh thats right you dont have any……slow white trash is all you will ever be..
