Here we go!

When historians look back on this one, they’ll observe that the winners knew it was a knife fight – and that the loser thought it was the McGill Debate Club.

Why does this bought and paid for Harper shill keep posting on progressive blogs?

  2. AAJ says:

Maybe it’s only to visit for tea and crumpets… and with Mrs. Harper and Mrs. Johnston catching up on Ottawa gossip…. ya think?

Warren… please post my comment before 9:55 a.m. EDST, otherwise it could look odd if the writ-ax was dropped.

    History may prove you wrong.

“The big rules of knife fighting are (a) do not try it at home, and (b) the whole point is never, ever use the blade.” – Keith Richards

“A good leader can engage in a debate frankly and thoroughly, knowing that at the end he and the other side must be closer, and thus emerge stronger. You don’t have that idea when you are arrogant, superficial, and uninformed.” – Nelson Mandela

we can only hope Mr. Mulcair, Ms.. May, Mr. Ducette, and Mr. Trudeau bring some very sharp knives and remember to not stab each other in the back or the front. The enemy is Stevie Harper and his Cons.

Very Interesting, but I have a golf game today.

No need to pay attention until after golf season anyway…

I feel badly for the candidates, of any party. Most candidates have no idea how grueling a campaign really is when they get into it, and are exhausted by the final stages of a normal ~40 day campaign. This one is going to be brutal, especially for those with families.

  6. Ty says:

I agree, Warren. It’ll be just like Premier Hudak’s victory last year.

  7. Nicole says:

Riding a plane while every other party leader gets their message immediately out post writ really doesn’t make a good start.

  8. Al in Cranbrook says:

Alrighty then, the election is Oct. 19th! Now we can…what???

Oh, yeah. We already knew that, didn’t we?

That’s the thing about a fixed election date.

Now we forgo all the pretend stuff about campaigning, and get on with reality, with a rule book in hand.

This poll out just now might shock a few dippers and Tories

  10. DJ says:

Mulcair seems to know this — hence, the testing of that “Enough” ad. He’s prepared to play hardball because he wants to win.

  11. ottlib says:

This election is going to come down to the answer to a single question. Has the desire for change among Canadians reached “critical mass”.

If the answer is no then the Conservatives will probably win.

If the answer is yes then the Conservatives lose and the question then becomes which party will Canadians choose to replace them?

Will they stick to a 150 year old voting pattern of alternating between a Conservative and a Liberal party or change that pattern?

  12. Rusty says:

I wonder if Harper will have made the same tactical error that Jim Prentice did in Alberta. There is such disgust with politics and politicians that I suspect people want a change. Period. Here is my take on partisan politics, etc. https://moreenigma.wordpress.com/2015/08/01/and-they-call-it-democracy/
