Compared to this, Watergate was chickenshit

Here:

WASHINGTON — Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time that they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

Hey Team Trudeau: kiss Canada’s claim to the Arctic goodbye. Trump’s handed it all over to Putin by now. And God knows what else.

This is simply extraordinary. A corrupt gang of criminals and traitors now run the United States.

Time for is to re-evaluate our alliances, I’d say.

Honestly, I thought Michel Therrien getting canned would have been today’s top story in the “no shit, what did you think?” news, but the Americans never fails to deliver.

We’re headed right into crisis territory in the US. The questions that surrounded election legitimacy are now coming to fruition and things are going to get really chaotic in Washington, really fast.

    Here are some predictions:

    – Kellyanne Conway gone by the end of the month
    – Sean Spicer gone by the end of the month
    – Names of these “Trump associates” come out and full blown independent investigation begins
    – Massive, massive protests
    – GOP congressmen/women one by one turn on administration
    – Possible criminal charges
    – Impeachment
    – President Paul Ryan by the end of 2017
    – Massive congressional turnover in 2018 midterms in swing red/blue districts.
    – Nixon no longer reference point for climactic government corruption
    – America so unbelievably fucked.

    Yeah but her emails!

Yep, the Trump-nuts will be rolling that meme around in their head, as they try to rationalize everything under “well, they all do it”. False equivalence of the highest order, but when your prophet is under attack, your brain does funny things.

He should be refered to from here on as the Bully Puppet

(Seriously, this is like living in a Tom Clancy novel.)

And it won’t matter to Trump’s supporters or the GOP. Trump hates and allows them to hate Muslims and Mexicans. That’s all that matters to them at this point.

This was going to be Mango Mussolini’s greatest deal, ever: Sell the USA to the Russians. He did it. Bigly.

The officials (unnamed) would not disclose many details, including what was discussed on the calls, the identity of the Russian intelligence officials who participated, and how many of Mr. Trump’s advisers were talking to the Russians. It is also unclear whether the conversations had anything to do with Mr. Trump himself.

Anybody here think these are worth finding out before making a judgement? Nah, I didn’t think so.

And gravity is merely a theory.

C’mon, Dan, let me have my fun. It’s fascinating to watch what Trump Fever is doing to the left. Not only are many of you getting in touch with your inner John Bircher with your Russophobia, you’ve elevated anonymous tips from the CIA to the level of settled science.

          Wrong, Peter!
This can spread a lot further before the person who leaked this to the Democratic media can be found and fired.
This morn the president met with the Prime Minister of Israel. I would say something about that state and its proxies meddling in a US election – but I don’t want ot be accused of anti settlementism.
So I will mention foreigners closer to home. Canadians! I have read that Canadians were directly involved in meddling in the US election.
No, Peter! That swamp in Washington is a cesspool of intrigue, a cesspool of intrigue.

          • Peter says:

That’s completely different, dave. When other countries meddle in foreign elections, they do so to subvert the popular will for influence, gold and glory. When Canadians do so, it’s part of our national mission to promote peace, human rights, tolerance and kindness to puppies in a turbulent, flawed world. Nothing in it for us.

Pence and Ryan are just taking notes, keeping the file filled and will move when its impeachment can be bullet proof. This was their plan all along, they knew that Trump was breaking the law, and they let it unfold this way to take advantage of the populist village idiot.
What astounds me is how many of the republican minions are soo bad at politics. Did none of them notice that their own govt monitors and traps their people, so of course Russia and other countries monitor and keep records…lol its just astounding that they all feel so powerful and omnipotent….that they arent being tracked and that their law breaking isnt registered. The irony is delicious big brother watches the family too fools.

Usually the praetorian guard’s moves regarding who get to be emperor are not so blatant. They must be desperate.

Hey, I posted a Newsweek article on a later thread, it was about the intelligence NATO allies have been gathering on Trump’s Russian connections, and their spying on the administration. I think that the un-President is totally toast if the allies are leaking legally actionable details about him. Reportedly, someone has gone to the trouble of securing the contracts and proof of payment from the Philippines to the Trump corp. Trumps business partner is now an appointee of the Philippine President, so the emoluments clause applies to some $millions paid over since Trump assumed office. This info was leaked by one of the NATO allies. That’s UN-Presidented (pun intended)

Yup! The Russian northern border will be Canada’s Arctic shoreline!

OTOH — If Canada was annexed by the USA they could defend the border against the Russian intrusions, whereas Canada on it’s own is rather flaccid, impotent, even feminists.
