You can always try printing out your tweet on a postcards and mailing at her office. It’s free to mail.

The problem for me with any of our elected representatives is that they represent ALL of us, Not just those who agree with or fawn over them. If they choose Twitter, or Facebook or traditional means of connecting with us they should be expected to be challenged, held accountable and asked questions via those mediums. When they start blocking, deleting, stonewalling, for me that’s a red flag. You put it well in your column yesterday Warren. Too often our elected reps. forget that WE are their employer and they our employee. That’s includes engaging on social media. Feedback should be seen as a gift, good, bad or otherwise. It the can’t take those, they shouldn’t opt for social media period.

It’s amazing how many people think that they’re entitled to have online or cyber bubble zones like that. Another example is certain online political comment boards, where the regulars of a certain political stripe react with absolute horror, akin to the villagers in a Frankenstein movie, if anyone comes on and challenges their views (the Breitbart comment section, if you can even stomach visiting there, is a shining example). It’s like certain people consider parts of cyberspace to be their home turf, when in fact there’s no such entitlement.

You’re right. When the person in question is an elected representative who chooses to engage on social media, surely they can’t expect everyone that responds to them is going to be in agreement with them. Blocking those who challenge or ask questions it a real turn off for me.
